MIDWEEK MINI WRAP

• Hot on the heels of her performance at Mardi Gras over the weekend, EMI has serviced the new Tina Arena single 'Love You Less' to Australian media. The third official single from Tina's album 'Reset' comes with a hint that a national tour announcement is imminent.
• Among the other tunes battling for national radio exposure this week are the new Aston Shuffle single 'No Place Like Home', a Sub Focus version of John Newman's 'Out Of My Head' and Broods' 'Bridges'. As always, we'll bring you a more comprehensive list of the new tunes over on our FACEBOOK page tomorrow (give us a 'like', why don't you?).
• Former Everything But The Girl member Ben Watt will release his long-awaited new solo album in Australia next month. 'Hendra' is the performer's first solo album in 30 years and is set to comprise ten new recordings blending influences of "languid folk, distorted rock and fizzing electronics". It's due for release in Australia on Friday April 11.

• Sam Smith's run atop the UK singles chart was short lived, with Pharrell Williams taking over the top spot in Britain this week with his global feel-good smash 'Happy'. Sam only drops to No.2, however, with fellow former No.1 holder Clean Bandit holding in position No.3. Tiesto's 'Red Lights' is the highest debut of the week at No.6, with Foxes' 'Let Got For Tonight' premiering at No.7 and Paloma Faith's 'Can't Rely On You' in at No.10. John Legend's Aussie smash 'All Of Me' rockets into the top ten, placing at No.9 (up from No.29).
• Bastille is wedged in the top spot for a second successive week with their album 'Bad Blood'. In fact Beck (No.4) and Wild Beasts (No.10) debut in what's an otherwise relatively settled week for the British top ten.

I'm so happy that Tina has picked the most radio friendly song from her new album as the new single, but I'm so dissapointed with the treatment that she and her label have given to "Reset All" (a live video in black and white instead of a proper music video) and to "Don't Hide" (no music video and no performance on Mardi Gras, being it the official anthem).

I really hope this time they shoot a beautiful music video for "Love You Less".
