DAVID GUETTA FTG. NICKI MINAJ : Turn Me On

David Guetta was in France over the weekend, performing live as part of the 2012 NRJ Awards in Cannes, with Scottish soul singer Emeli Sandé taking over Sia's role in 'Titanium' (catch that HERE).
Today, however, it's the unveiling of the official video for his latest single 'Turn Me On', with Nicki Minaj, which Channel 10 has been using in its 2012 promos.
To say Nicki starts the clip not quite feeling herself might be an understatement - but we finally see what she's made of.
She slides through a set of wrought iron gates with sass and style, wearing her candy-floss pink hair and we all discover what David gets up to in his spare time. This clip will no doubt rub some people the wrong way - more than likely for all the nudity (minus the fiddly bits, of course...).

MADONNA BREAKS COVER

Hot on the heels of the announcement of a local release earlier this afternoon, Madonna has used her FACEBOOK page to reveal the official cover image for her forthcoming album 'M.D.N.A.'.
We think you'll agree it's a colourful thing and we're looking forward to exploring its contents when it's released in Australia on Monday March 26.

MADONNA RELEASES CONFIRMED FOR AUS

Universal Music has moments ago confirmed the forthcoming release of both Madonna's new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin' and her album 'M.D.N.A.'.
The Material Girl broke cover on her single 'Give Me All Your Luvin' yesterday and Universal has revealed that it will be released here on Saturday February 04 - co-inciding with the track's release over in the US - just days before her half-time performance at the Superbowl. The official video will also be released on Saturday.
The brand new album 'M.D.N.A.' will hit Australian stores at the end of March and a pre-order for an exclusive 18 track deluxe edition will begin on iTunes locally this Saturday.
Fans who pre-order the album between February 04 and February 07 will receive the single 'Give Me All Your Luvin' immediately.
'M.D.N.A.' hits retail locally on Monday March 26.

YOUR SINGLE OF THE YEAR

Alright pop kids... We gave you 31 days to vote on which track you thought should be the No.1 pop single of 2011.
Up until January 03, the voting was pretty committed to Gotye & Kimbra's megahit 'Somebody That I Used To Know', with Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way', Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep', David Guetta & Sia's 'Titanium' and Adele's 'Someone Like You' rounding out the top five.
Shortly thereafter, the Anthony Callea and Adam Lambert fan community took over, meaning that the final five finished up with Anthony Callea's 'Oh Oh Oh Oh' at No.1, Maroon 5 ftg Christina Aguilera's 'Moves Like Jagger' at No.2, Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' at No.3, Adam Lambert's 'Better Than I Know Myself' at No.4 and Cody Simpson's 'On My Mind' at No.5.
So... what we've decided to do in order to keep things fair is to give you two poll options in the right hand sidebar.
Poll option #1 is the 'Single Of The Year : Your Say' and poll option #2 is the 'Single Of The Year : The Adam/Anthony Battle'. We've included the top ten voted singles in each poll.
So... Adam Lambert and Anthony Callea fans... go your hardest.
For those who don't want to be part of that battle, you can simply vote on the top option.
We're closing things off on Valentines Day, so the song you love the most will be revealed on the day.

Off you go then! Over in the sidebar!

MADGE UNCOVERED

Madonna has unveiled the official cover image for her forthcoming single 'Give Me All Your Luvin', which is due to drop at digital retailers later this week.
The track is the first from her forthcoming album 'M.D.N.A.' and sees the megastar teaming up with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj for a dancefloor-inspired track she no doubt hopes will take her all the way back to No.1 on the US singles chart.
The track was co-produced by Martin Solveig.
Though there's been no confirmation from Universal Music locally, it's anticipated the single will hit digital retail here late Friday.

ANTWOORD SIDESHOWS

And the Future Music Festival sideshows keep coming, with festival organisers this morning confirming sideshows for the South African three piece.
The band, whose latest album 'Ten$ion' will be released next month, will play dates for their fans in both Sydney and Melbourne during their visit, treating punters to tracks from the new LP, along with fan favourites including 'Beat Boy' and 'Rich Bitch'.
Tickets for both shows are on sale on Monday February 06.

FIREMAN DROPS

Paulini's long-awaited new single 'Fireman' hit radio today.
We made mention of the new track here a couple of weeks back and the steamy official video went live (albeit briefly) last week before being taken down. It's expected to be back up within the week.
Inspiration for the new single came from a trip Paulini took to New York last year.
"I was walking down the street in Brooklyn when a fire truck drove past with its sirens blaring and this group of women literally started screaming with excitement as these impressive firemen drove past," she said in a statement. "It made me think, ‘these guys are so well loved and are too often over-looked as heroes’. So I began writing a cheeky song to celebrate firemen worldwide, for all the ladies and lovers."
'Fireman' will be released digitally on Friday February 10.

NEW DIRECTION

Australia's Directioners rejoice! Sony Music has this morning officially serviced One Direction's brand new single 'One Thing' to Australian radio. That, of course, means that with your help and your continued dedication and relentless requesting, the boyband who's taken Australia by storm might shuffle past just the one double platinum single.
We've pole-vaulted across 'Gotta Be You' here in Australia and for us, 'One Thing' is official 1D single No.2.
The boys' first single 'What Makes You Beautiful' is at No.13 this week and is double platinum, while their album 'Up All Night' is platinum and sits at No.6.

GYM REVEALS ASS

'Ass Back Home' is the brand new single for US outfit Gym Class Heroes.
The track was serviced to Australian media by their Aussie label Warner music this morning, just a month out from their Australian visit as part of this year's Future Music Festival.
And with the track already finding its feet in the United States, it's expected that it won't take too long before Aussie radio thrashes 'Ass Back Home' to within an inch of it.
The second single from the band's current album 'The Papercut Chronicles II', the track features 25 year old British singer/songwriter Neon Hitch, who's previously featured on tracks by Ke$ha and 3OH!3.

LOOKBACK

SWOOP : Apple Eyes

What an ace track this was. Blending funk, disco, pop and a smattering of rock, Swoop rocketed into the Aussie top ten with this back in early 1996. 'Apple Eyes' was the band's biggest hit by a country mile, because it was fun, friendly and commercially accessible, despite strange lyrics like "you and I and a blueberry sky forever". The psychedelia of it all carried over into the clip too, with the band playing atop a checkered floor in a CGI orchard with pictures of fish and fruit flashing across the screen.

* We've given it a heck of a lot of thought, but have decided that it would be ace to throw the 'Lookback' segment over to you, our awesome readers - to give you a little more input and involve you more in the site. Have you got a favourite Lookback pop clip that you've just been dying to share? A certain pop clip that means something to you? Send us about 100 words talking about your favourite Lookback clip with a link to said video and we'll start featuring it on the site each Sunday at 3pm (AEDT)! We'll publish your first name and suburb/state under the clip. Our email address is up top in the sidebar! Over to you, auspOppers!

TOURING : Evanescence

It's been five long years since they last toured Australia, but touring agent Michael Coppel has today announced that US rock outfit Evanescence will return in just two months time to perform five shows across the east coast.
The run of shows kicks off in Canberra on Friday March 23, before visiting Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney. Perth and Adelaide miss out.
Evanescence hit the big time here in Australia with their debut single 'Bring Me To Life' in 2003, notching up No.1 success and paving the way for future top five hits 'My Immortal' and 'Call Me When You're Sober'.
All three of the band's albums have hit the top five; the first two ('Fallen' and 'The Open Door') were multiple-platinum-selling No.1s.
Joining Evanescence in the support role will be US electro duo Blaqk Audio.
Tickets for all dates are on sale on Thursday February 09.

March 23 : Canberra (Royal Theatre)
March 24 : Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena)
March 26 : Brisbane (Convention Centre)
March 28 : Newcastle (Entertainment Centre)
March 29 : Sydney (Entertainment Centre)

COLDPLAY'S CHARLIE CHECKS IN

It took a little while for previous single 'Paradise' to find its legs here in Australia, but when it did, it rocketed to the upper reaches of the ARIA singles chart and has remained there ever since, going on to sell three times platinum and in the process becoming the band's most successful single in Australia to date.
Now EMI is following it up with single No.3 from Coldplay's latest album 'Mylo Xyloto' - the fan favourite 'Charlie Brown' (cover image pictured).
It comes at a time when fans across the country are excitedly anticipating a tour announcement from the band, with rumours growing louder that they may visit our shores.
'Mylo Xyloto' is at No.7 on this week's ARIA albums chart.

CHART WATCH

Flo Rida and Sia finally edged their way into the top spot last night, but already they're under attack. Over on the albums chart, meanwhile, Adele just keeps on selling.

SINGLES
Flo Rida and Sia maintain the No.1 chart position for a second successive week with their single 'Wild Ones', but they may not be there for much longer - with a couple of singles rocketing up the charts with Flo and Sia firmly in their sights.
First and foremost is Laurent Wery's track 'Hey Hey Hey', which has shot up eight positions this week to No.2, causing Timomatic's single 'Set It Off' to drop to No.6 and Simple Plan's 'Summer Paradise' edging to No.4.
The biggest move (and perhaps the biggest threat), however, comes from Matt Corby, whose 'Into The Flame' EP has bulleted from No.42 to No.8. And with his single 'Brother' also vying for top spot on the iTunes chart on the back of Hottest 100 success, could he hit the top next week?
Hilltop Hoods and Sia score a new peak of No.11, with Drake & Rihanna's 'Take Care' right behind them after a six place rise.
The Black Keys' 'Lonely Boy' is up ten spots to No.15, but Taio Cruz' now three-times-platinum 'Hangover' is down three to No.16. 360 ftg. Gossling's 'Boys Like You' also sees some chart love - up ten places to No.19.
Pitbull and Chris Brown's 'International Love' goes platinum, Rihanna's 'We Found Love' hits the five times platinum mark. Kelly Clarkson's latest single 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' also goes platinum, along with Avicii's 'Levels'.
There's more Pitbull love down at No.37 with his Qwote collaboration 'Throw Your Hands Up' improving 16 places and entering the top 50 at No.37.
Not too far behind is James Morrison's track 'I Won't Let You Go', which was used extensively in promos for Channel 7 soapie 'Home & Away'. It's up 24 places to No.39, while the week's highest new entry goes to Knife Party, who are in at No.41 with their '100 No Modern Talking' EP.
Also scraping into the top half of the 100 this week is Jessie J's new tune 'Laserlight' with David Guetta - an eight place jump seeing it land at No.49.
Outside the top 50, Grouplove's 'Tongue Tied' is up to a new peak of No.51, Chiddy Bang's 'Ray Charles' improves to No.54, Rihanna and Jay-Z's 'Talk That Talk' bullets from No.91 to No.57 and 'Jumpstart' from These Kids Wear Crowns is up 23 spots to No.59.
After her sad passing last week, the classic Etta James track 'At Last' enters the top 100 at No.72, shadowed by a re-entry from Boy & Bear's 'Feeding Line'.
M83's 'Midnight City' debuts at No.78, Jessie J's 'Price Tag' re-enters at No.83 and there are other top 100 debuts from Florence & The Machine ('No Light, No Light' at No.95) and Nickelback ('Lullaby' at No.100).

ALBUMS
Though Remote Control Records this week confirmed that Adele had notched up the eleven times platinum mark with her album '21', the charts still reflect the previous ten times platinum accreditation. Expect the sales figure to tick over in the weeks ahead - and yes, she's still glued into that No.1 position.
Foster The People's 'Torches' improves to No.2 (and goes platinum in the process) while the highest new entry of the week comes courtesy of Lamb Of God and their new album 'Resolution' which debuts in the No.3 position - their highest chart position in Australia to date.
The Black Keys' 'El Camino' rises to a new peak of No.5, Boy & Bear's 'Moonfire' is back in the top ten at No.9 and the Bangarang EP from Skrillex is now also a top ten starter.
Foo Fighters' 'Wasting Light' get the double platinum nod, Kasabian's 'Velociraptor' is up 18 places to No.27, but it's Celtic Thunder impressing with their 'Heritage' set. It rises an impressive 62 places this week to No.30.
New at No.32 is Enter Shikari's A Flash Flood Of Colour', Busby Marou's self-titled LP is up 37 places to No.40, Amber Lawrence's '3' debuts at No.41 and Chairlift's 'Something' is in at No.45.
Outside the top 50, Nero's 'Welcome Reality' is up 19 places to No.52, Kanye's Big Day Out appearance helps his album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' move up from No.98 to No.61 and 'Her Best' by Etta James is in at No.65.
'The Very Best Of Slim Dusty' is up 33 spots to No.67, Arctic Monkeys' 'Suck It And See' is headed in the other direction - down 40 places to No.82 and there are further top 100 debuts from Harmony James' 'Handful Of Sky' (No.92) and Bond's 'Play' (No.94).
The Kooks' 'Junk Of The Heart' also falls 40 and down to No.100.

Given, however, that there are only five copies, there can only be five winners.

So... it's a big congratulations to;

Darren from Port Melbourne in Victoria, Yvonne from Elizabeth Downs in South Australia, Nathan from Cranbourne in Victoria, Cliff from Yangebup in Western Australia and David from Hillside in Victoria!

Congratulations team! A copy of the RNB Superbclub ten year anniversary edition will be winging its way to your place shortly. And thanks to everyone who entered. More prizes are incoming in the weeks ahead, so eyes peeled.

GOTYE IS HOTTEST

He conquered the ARIA singles chart with the track last year, it's gone on to sell more than eight times platinum (sales of more than 560,000 copies) and now Gotye and Kimbra's all-conquering 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has taken out Triple J's celebrated Hottest 100 countdown.
The win doesn't come as much of a surprise - the single had long been the bookies' runaway favourite to take out the gong.
He won the accolade ahead of The Black Keys' 'Lonely Boy' in position two and Matt Corby's track 'Brother' at No.3.
Gotye also placed at No.87 with his track 'In Your Light' and at No.34 with the Motown-esque 'I Feel Better'.
Last night he was named Best Male and Artist Of The Year at the third annual Rolling Stone Awards, held in Sydney.

Here's how the Triple J Hottest 100 top 20 played out;

GOTYE TOPS STONE AWARDS

If his much-predicted win in today's Triple J Hottest 100 comes to fruition later this afternoon, today could indeed be a very good day for Gotye, after taking out two of the top gongs in the third annual Australian Rolling Stone Awards, held last night at Sydney's Beresford Hotel.
The singer, famous for his 2011 megahit 'Somebody That I Used To Know' (with Kimbra), picked up the gongs for Best Male and Artists Of The Year. His 'Somebody That I Used To Know' cohort Kimbra bagged the 'Artist To Watch' award.
Megan Washington was awarded the Best Female, while the international award went to British outfit Florence & The Machine.
The Jezabels took out the prize of 'Album Of The Year' for 'Prisoner'; Foo Fighters were crowned 'Best Live Act' and Molly Meldrum was awarded 'The Immortal' - a lifetime achievement award "for outstanding contribution to popular culture".
The highest honour of the night, however, went to legendary Aussie rock outfit Cold Chisel, who picked up the 'Rolling Stone Award' - also presented for "an outstanding contribution to popular culture".

SET FOR KRAZY K25

Of course, seeing as it's Australia Day today, most people are enjoying a slow start to the day. Not so a certain impossible pop princess, however, with plenty of big reveals happening at the crack of dawn this morning.
First and foremost is the relaunch of Kylie's official website www.kylie.com, where there's a whole new look, a new gallery looking at Kylie fashions across the last quarter of a century and a brand new timeline allowing fans to delve back into the archives.
Secondly is the announcement that Kylie will come home in March for a performance, her third, at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras (you can watch her announcement HERE).
And lastly today is the unlocking of the full video she teased us with yesterday - a stripped-back, almost orchestral version of her stunning Brothers In Rhythm-produced 1992 single 'Finer Feelings'.
More surprises (including more of these videos) will be unveiled across the course of the year. Looks like it's going to be one long 'Celebration'!

OH BROTHER : CORBY REMIXED

Aussie singer Matt Corby has been having quite the run of success of late; his 'Into The Flame' EP has been doing good things on the ARIA charts, so far peaking at No.31 and achieving gold sales accreditation for sales of 35,000 copies.
His cover version of The Black Keys' 'Lonely Boy' on Triple J's 'Like A Version' won him more fans and his debut album, which is currently in the writing stage, is expected to be released later in the year.
Now comes news that Lancelot (formerly one half of Sydney pop duo Aeons) has created a remix of Matt's track 'Brother' from his latest EP.
And it's pretty special too, blending Matt's soft, breathy vocals with delicious minimal mid-tempo electro/pop beats. They combine to impressively mesmerizing effect.
Best of all, Lancelot is offering up the remix totally free of charge. So get listening, get loving, get downloading;

K25 KICKS TOMORROW

Kylie Minogue's 25th Anniversary celebrations will officially kick off tomorrow morning at 6am AEDT, when she will premiere the brand new acoustic rendition of her 1992 classic 'Finer Feelings'.
Recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, the new version features Kylie in stripped-back mode, accompanied by a 24 piece string orchestra, four backing vocalists and her super producers (we're talking Steve Anderson and Colin Elliot) and will be available to view in full when more than 25,000 people across the world have tweeted using the hashtag #k25fans.
It's the first in a series of new recordings and amazing surprises Kylie will reveal as part of her 25 year anniversary celebrations.
In the 12 and a bit hours before the celebrations officially get underway, check out the teaser of the clip below.

SNEZ TURNS GREEN WITH ENVY

Here's something rather sweet, fresh and quirky for your Wednesday afternoon... A brand new single from Sydney-based singer/songwriter Snez.
'Green' is the first track lifted from the singer's forthcoming second album '8 Lives Left To Lose' and is a summery, playful pop tune that lyrically deals with a bout of jealousy Snez experienced early last year.
"As most songwriters do, I turned my demon ‘jealousy’ into a song," she says in a statement, "Which turned out to be a fun song."
Snez' vocals are rich and soulful and stylistically, we're guessing that if you're a fan of artists like Feist, Lenka or Georgia Fields, you're totally going to love turning 'Green'.
'Green' will be released digitally on Friday February 20, with the album '8 Lives Left To Lose' due to drop in April.

FREE NERVO

Lordy! For those who are yet to discover the Aussie pop delights of the sisters NERVO, you have the chance to discover a little pop gem for no dollars down this week, as iTunes offers up the girls' latest track as a free download.
For the uninitiated, here's a quick recap on what they've been up to...
NERVO are Melbourne-based sister act Mim and Liv; models who've since turned their hands to songwriting. So good are they, that by 2006 their songs started to get picked up by artists around the world. They penned the top ten UK hit 'Negotiate With Love' for Rachel Stevens, they co-wrote the megahit 'When Love Takes Over' for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, 'Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)' for Kylie and have worked with artists like Ke$ha, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Cheryl Cole and Britney Spears.
DJing around the world, they signed a deal with Virgin Records back in 2010 and have subsequently been releasing singles, while working on their debut album.
Latest single 'We're All No One' was released late last year - and it's this tune that the gang from iTunes are giving away this week as their 'Single Of The Week'.
So support local pop - and get your mitts on it HERE.

SEPTEMBER IN FEBRUARY

Eagle-eyed pans will have no doubt been seeing Swedish songstress September's latest album 'Love CPR' on our iTunes store since late last year. But next month, Central Station Records will follow it all up with a long-awaited physical edition of the album.
'Love CPR' is the singer's fourth album and follows on from her self-titled 2008 compilation and the 'September : Gold' compile, which was released a year later.
It features the singles 'Resuscitate Me', 'Me & My Microphone' and 'Party In My Head', along with the international bonus track 'Nobody Knows' and 11 other tracks.
'Love CPR' will be released in Australia on Friday February 10.

ARTISTS SURF TO MANLY

The inaugural Australian Open Of Surfing will hit Sydney's Manly Beach in the middle of next month and though most eyes will be on some of the biggest names in both surf and skate, the team at Channel [V] are ensuring that there'll be a wave of awesome music to entertain the throngs.
The [V] music stage will be buzzing on February 17 and 18 from 4:00pm, with performances from the likes of Sneaky Sound System, Bluejuice, Children Collide, Stonefield and DJ Grant Smillie.
We've also been told that another "monster" act will be announced later in the week.
All gigs are free, but if you're not able to get there in person, the team at Channel [V] will be broadcasting live and bringing TV audiences performances, interviews and other highlights from the event.
The Australian Open Of Surfing hits Manly Beach from Saturday February 11 to Sunday February 19.

ADELE TICKS OVER

Adele's Aussie label Remote Control Records has confirmed that the singer's all-conquering album '21', which this week notches up its 26th week atop the ARIA albums chart and one year since its release, has now been certified eleven times platinum.
This means that the album has now sold an incredible 770,000 copies in Australia alone across the past 12 months and overtakes John Farnham's iconic 'Whispering Jack' as the 7th most successful No.1 album in ARIA chart history.
It appears, however, that Remote Control is still to update the accreditations for the singles 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Someone Like You' (which this week both remain at five times platinum), nor for 'Set Fire To The Rain' or her previous album '19', which both remain at platinum level.

LAMBERT UNCOVERED

Adam Lambert seemingly hasn't broken the internet this time around, but he has this afternoon unveiled the cover image to his brand new album 'Trespassing'.
His latest single 'Better Than I Know Myself' has yet to hit its strides on the Aussie singles chart, but has moved into the top 80 on the iTunes chart in the past few days. As of last week, it was the 73rd most played song on Australian radio (an improvement of 19 places on the previous week), meaning that radio is now starting to get on board.
'Trespassing' is set for release in Australia on Friday March 16.

NEWS WRAP

• Another bundle of new tunes whipped out to local radio this week - and certainly one of our favourites would be the new single from Scottish songstress Emeli Sandé called 'Next To Me'. It's the second Aussie single to be lifted from her forthcoming album 'Our Version Of Events'.
• Also at the wireless this week are the aforementioned new Jason Mraz single 'I Won't Give Up', Laura Marling's 'I Was Just A Card', Kasabian's 'Goodbye Kiss' and (just this morning) Ladyhawke's 'Black, White & Blue'.
• Angry punters vented their anger at Kanye West's late arrival to the stage at the Gold Coast Big Day Out over the weekend, but organisers have been swift to defend the star, saying that his delayed performance was due to a severe storm that damaged equipment. Kanye's set was delayed by 45 minutes while the equipment failure was recitifed.
• The lads from British outfit Keane have announced that their new album is complete. The LP, to be released later in the year, will be the first since 2008's 'Perfect Symmetry'.
• Aussie choreographer Jason Coleman is on the verge of launching a new record label. Though details are thin on the ground at the moment, the label is called Groove Pill Records and he's given fans a taste of what to expect HERE. The label is set to launch in the middle of February.
• The Rapture will play a Melbourne sideshow as part of their Future Music Festival visit. They'll team up with Azari & III to play the city's Forum Theatre on Tuesday March 06. Tickets are on sale on Tuesday January 31.
• Liberation Music has announced that Aussie songstress Catcall (aka Catherine Kelleher), will release her debut album 'The Warmest Place' on Friday May 04. Catcall will hit the stage for her first ever headline date at Good God Small Club in Sydney on Wednesday February 01.
• First Aid Kit's upcoming show in Melbourne has been moved to cope with demand for tickets. Originally scheduled for the Northcote Social Club, the show will now take place at The Corner Hotel. The date (March 14) remains the same.
• Jessie J's 'Domino' has held off the challenge from both Rizzle Kicks and David Guetta to remain at the top of the British singles chart this week. Swedish House Mafia's 'Antidote' is the week's highest debut at No.4, while Pixie Lott scores another top ten UK hit and Kelly Clarkson's so close to the top ten she can taste it.
• On the UK albums chart, Adele's back up into the No.1 position to celebrate her 12 month anniversary in the British charts with her album '21'. Ed Sheeran's '+' and Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' also surge, while Enter Skirari blasts their way onto the top ten at No.4 with 'A Flash Flood Of Colour'. Albums from Florence & The Machine, Rizzle Kicks and Jessie J re-enter the top ten.
• Rihanna's 'We Found Love' becomes the longest running No.1 single by a female artist since Beyonce's 'Irreplacable' back in 2006/07, but Adele's awesome 'Set Fire To The Rain' is edging closer to the top - up two spots to No.2. Flo Rida's 'Good Feeling' is also up a couple of places, while Tyga's 'Rack City' and David Guetta/Nicki Minaj's 'Turn Me On' arrive in the top ten with a bullet.
• And Adele's five weeks away from a year in the charts in the US, but she's still reigning in the No.1 position - '21's 16th week atop the Billboard albums chart. Dave Crowder Band's 'Give Us Rest Or' debuts in the No.2 position, Snow Patrol's 'Fallen Empires' is in at No.5 and the rest of the top ten (give or take a couple of positions) remains relatively stagnant.

LIBERATED GARBAGE

It's been seven long years since we were last furnished with an album by US outfit Garbage. Back then, their album 'Bleed Like Me' hit the top five here in Australia and spawned the top 20 hit 'Why Do You Love Me'.
Now the band has announced the formation of their own record label entitled 'StunVolume', on which they're planning to release their upcoming fifth studio album.
According to a press release, the new LP "was recorded in a basement in the Atwater Village area of Los Angeles" and was produced by the band; mixed by Butch Vig and Billy Bush.
As part of the announcement today, however, is news that the band has inked a partnership deal with Liberator Music to release their new tunes both here in Australia and over the ditch in New Zealand.
Garbage's long-awaited as-yet-untitled album is due for release later this year.

IT'S AN AQUALANCHE!

With Danish outfit Aqua ready to hit our shores in just a couple of months time for a super-popular tour, Universal Music has moved to capitalise, scheduling their latest album 'Megalomania' for an Australian release in the lead-up to their visit.
It's still a few weeks away, but Universal will this Friday digitally release the tracks 'Playmate To Jesus' and 'Like A Robot', along with the remixes of the band's single 'How R U Doin?'.
'Megalomania' is due for release on Friday February 17.
In fact, Euro pop lovers are in for a treat in February, with further pop LPs appearing on Universal's release schedule this week.
February 10 will see the release of Alexandra Stan's long-awaited album 'Saxobeat', along with Inna's album 'I Am The Club Rocker' and September's awesome 'Love CPR'.

HEAVEN! REBECCA'S LOCAL RELEASE

Well here's a bit of lovely news from the halls of Sony Music... 2010 British X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson will see her debut album 'Heaven' released in Australia next month.
'Heaven' debuted at No.3 on the British albums charts upon its release there just before Christmas and became the second highest selling debut album of the year, beaten only by the power of One Direction.
The Rebecca Ferguson project continues to power ahead in the UK, where her latest single 'Too Good To Lose' (cover art pictured) will be released on March 04.
In the meantime, however, it's now Australia's turn for a little slice of 'Heaven'. First single 'Nothing's Real But Love' is now available on the local iTunes store and it's anticipated there might be quite a bit of interest in the album when it drops to retail here on Friday February 10.
