ARMAND VAN HELDEN : Hear My Name
We remember dancing to this song on our local dancefloor. It was a bit of a departure for Armand Van Helden, who always turned out great remixes, but his singles never really had the same spark as his production numbers did. Finally we get a great song, sung by a duo sadly never to be heard from again, and a song that encapsulated the dark, gritty underground of New York, but brought it a little bit closer to the mainstream. Today, it is commonplace for a dance artist or DJ to crossover, but a song to do that back then was almost unheard of. Granted, it did not have a huge success, but it was a great track and the video's pretty awesome as well. Happy Birthday, Alan!!

Two Jims in a row! Well to be fair, last week's Lookback was contributed by 'Jimmy', not 'Jim'. Thanks Jim. Happy Birthday Alan! Now you can both sit back and watch as our other fine readers contribute their favourite pop clips. Little videos that mean something to them and that they'd like to share with our fab readers! It's super-simple to do... Here's how;
All you have to do is send us about 100 words about your favourite Lookback clip with a link to said video and we'll feature it on the site on a forthcoming Sunday! We'll publish your first name and suburb/state under the clip so not only will our readers know just how amazing you really are, but you can tell your friends all about your contribution so they'll know just how amazing you really are. Our email address is up top in the sidebar! Over to you!
