You'll know the face of up and coming local songstress Yianni from this year's series of 'The Voice'. Her voice was enough to convince Joel Madden to swing his chair, but she failed to get beyond the battle rounds. It's not the first time Yianna's name has been mentioned here on the pages of auspOp. She was a member of the girl group Trinity, who performed alongside the likes of Jason Derulo (she also made a cameo in his 'What If' video), as well as crooner Engelbert Humperdinck.
But now she's flying solo, with her debut single 'Intervention' being released digitally today.
Described as a "driving dance floor anthem", it was penned by Sweden's Erik Lewander and Hanne Sorvaag, along with former Zomba Australia signing Hayley Aitken (who herself has an astonishing voice).
It was produced in Melbourne at the PLW studios.
Tour dates and an album release are to follow later in the year.
