That said, 'Born This Way' the album was nowhere near as amazing as its predecessor, which came out of nowhere and conquered the music world a few years back.
So what's Gaga got up her sleeve next? Talking about honesty and loathing reality, next year's fashions and hair nets tipped to resemble berets. We don't know how she does it, but 'The Prelude Pathétique' has once again piqued our interest.

Thats because Australia loves the terribly generic artists like Katy Perry and LMFAO. We have moved away from what is music. Born this way the album contains some of the best music pieces put together in years. The Edge Of Glory is brilliant , Marry the night is hauntingly stimulative , Born this way the song is the most uplifting and good feeling song to be put out this year. Who else would use the words gay , lesbian and transgender and get a #1 hit ? Heavy Metal Lover is self explanatory. The album is different its not appealing to a commercial sense but is a masterpiece as a collection. Im sorry but you guys on here love the stupid justice crew , LMFAO and the generic stuff. All these are terrible and repetitive. The album has sold 8million worldwide to call it unsuccessful is really a false claim. I once liked this blog but it supports rubbish pieces of music.
Hey Anonymous,
In our defence, we've only ever posted four bits of information about LMFAO in three and a half years - when they hit the Live Lounge, when they announced two live shows and as part of a David Guetta single.
Justice Crew we've supported because they're Australian. We're not fans of either LMFAO OR Justice Crew.

I must agree - Born This Way is a masterpiece and has been a huge commercial success. This posts comes off bitchy and underestimates the success of the album and the talent of Lady Gaga. Born This Way is the fastest selling album to date this year and the second highest selling album. In almost 6 months it has sold over 8 million copies - The Fame being 12 million and The Fame Monster being 6 million. Born This Way has outsold Teenage Dream and most musicians at the moment.
I actually agree that Born this way is not Gaga's best work - compared to her earlier work it pales in comparison. Sales aside, it lacks the magic that songs such as just dance, bad romance and poker face all have. Marry the night however is my fave from this album and I think it deserves to do well. Auspop is a great blog and can support whoever the hell it likes!
Auspop's comment that the project seems to have stalled in Australia is true. "Marry The Night" has been in the Top 30 on the airplay charts for the past month, but next to no one is buying the single, hence its stunningly low chart position to date. An artist of Lady Gaga's calibre should not be languishing at the bottom of the chart. Madonna was six years into her career before she missed the Top 40, let alone barely charted (and in five years late 1984 and late 1989, she had just one single miss the Top 10 - Lady Gaga has had two such misses just this year. I mention Madonna because many claim that she is bigger than Madonna ever was, which is simply not the case in any way, shape or form). International sales of BTW mean nothing - the album and the project have underperformed in Australia. I completely agree that this album is nowhere near as good as her last album (which I loved). As for LMFAO being repetitive, how would you describe the hook for "Judas" (ooh la looma ah ah, Gaga oogla wa wa etc.)?
@Anonymous #1, Lady GaGa is just as generic as those two acts you mentioned, she just uses the terrible mainstream media to make you believe she's something different. She's straight out of the text book on how to manipulate the masses with "shock and awe".
What you guys dont realize is Born this Way is not as commercial as TF/TFM , For gods sake she released Judas as a single , that's the most risky thing to do . which other artist has the b*lls to do that. Katy perry is trash and rhianna is all about sex. When will Australia realize that music with real meaning is superior to sex music. BTW has sold 8million WW , and is 2x platinum here in Australia
Hey Anonymous #5,
To put success into perspective, global superstar Gaga's 'Born This Way' has sold double platinum in exactly six months on the back of five singles.
Local singer Gotye's 'Making Mirrors' has sold double platinum in half that time on the back of just two singles.

Well said, Auspop...! Goyte's success is really only based on one single, but I understand that you were being generous :-)
It's interesting that people are upset about your comments about the project stalling, yet are quick to point out that BTW is "not commercial" etc. If it's "not commercial", then why get upset when it's pointed out that on a commercial level, it's not as successful as her previous releases?
