Just when we'd got used to seeing Gotye and Kimbra atop the ARIA singles charts, along came Kelly Clarkson last week to end their long reign in the top spot. But this week, Kelly herself has been dislodged... by five little letters.SINGLES
Yes indeed, after such a long run at the top of the charts, Kelly Clarkson finally knocked Gotye and Kimbra from the No.1 spot last week with her latest single 'Mr.Know It All'. But just one week later, LMFAO has come along to spoil the party, claiming No.1 with their latest single 'Sexy And I Know It'. It moves up two spots on last week and now carries a gold accreditation for sales of more than 35,000 copies.
Rihanna and Calvin Harris are up two spots to No.2 (also now gold) and Gotye and Kimbra are down to No.2 with 'Somebody That I Used To Know', but with a new five times platinum accreditation for sales of more than 350,000 copies.
The bad news for Kelly Clarkson is that she sank dramatically from the No.1 spot - down five positions after her whirlwind Aussie promotional visit.
Flo Rida bullets into the top ten (No.7) with his latest single 'Good Feeling', while there are a few two or three place movements elsewhere in the top 20.
Beyonce's 'Love On Top' surges further - now a bee's dick away from a top 20 berth, while Enrique, Pitbull & Wavs are up eight spots to No.26 and Sean Paul is into the top 30 with 'Got 2 Luv U' featuring the vocal prowess of Alexis Jordan.
New into the top 50 is Ed Sheeran's 'The A Team' (up 21 spots on last week) and a debut down at No.44 for T-Pain with Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen ('5 O'Clock').
Also moving into the top half of the hundred are Simple Plan with Rivers Cuomo (No.45), Katy Perry's 'The One That Got Away' (No.48), Nicole Scherzinger's 'Wet' (No.49) and Peter Murray's 'Free' (No.50).
Just missing a top 50 position is Gold Coast teen star Cody Simpson, whose single 'On My Mind' debuts at No.51.
Short Stack's 'Bang Bang Sexy' re-emerges at No.56 after its video premiere on Australia's Next Top Model and Beyonce's 'Run The World (Girls)' is also back in the top 100 - at No.64.
American dance diva Wynter Gordon sees some more top 100 action, debuting at No.77 with her new single 'Buy My Love', while further debuts come courtesy of 360 ftg. Gossling ('Boys Like You' at No.71), Vanessa Amorosi ('Amazing' at No.83) and more 360 ('Killer') at No.88.
There are also debuts for the Glee Cast ('Run The World (Girls)' at No.91 and 'Fix You' at No.99), as well as Lana Del Ray's 'Video Games' - coming in at No.98.
Congratulations to Katy Perry this week, who notches up a full 12 months on the top 100 with her single 'Firework'. No.69 with a five times platinum accreditation.
ALBUMS
It's astonishing to think that young Adele just keeps on selling there at No.1 on the ARIA albums chart - she's there again this week, seeing off both Chris Isaak's new album 'Beyond The Sun' and Evanescence's new self-titled set, which debut as Nos.3 and 5 respectively.
Sneaky Sound System's album 'From Here To Anywhere' just misses a top ten placing, settling instead for a No.11 debut (their last album '2' debuted at No.1 three years ago).
Cody Simpson's 'Coast To Coast' surges on the back of his Australian promo tour - up ten places to No.16 - and Feist's 'Metals' gives the Canadian songstress her first top 20 album down under, debuting at No.17.
The Wombats' repackage does the trick - soaring 44 places and back into the top 20, while Bruno Mars' album 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' spends its one year anniversary in the No.24 position.
Ryan Adams' album 'Ashes & Fire' debuts at No.25, the 'Red Dog' movie soundtrack is in at No.30 and Big Scary's 'Vacation' ventures into the chart at No.37.
Nicki Minaj's 'Pink Friday' is back into the top 50 at No.46, Bjork's 'Biophilia' debuts at No.48 and the Crowded House best-of moves up 29 spots to No.49.
Outside the 50, the motion picture soundtrack for 'Footloose' is in at No.56, Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' (which last week re-emerged in the top 50 at No.12), falls out of the top 50 again - down to No.57 - and Alice Cooper's 'Welcome To My Nightmare' slumps from No.29 to No.69.
Katherine Jenkins' 'Daydream' debuts at No.78, the Ben Folds retrospective comes in at No.79 and Def Leppard's definitive collection debuts at No.81.
There's also a debut for Dj Shadow ('The Less You Know, The Better') at No.86 and James Morrison's 'The Awakening' drops from No.53 to No.91 in just its second week on sale.

Did Sony again not debut Stan Walker's single? That makes at least three weeks it could have likely been charting in the 60 to 100 range. What are they waiting for. A miracle????

No, no sign of Stan Walker anywhere near the top 100 again this week.

Certainly Gotye & Kimbra's track is one of if not the highest selling Aussie single of all time. Anthony Callea's 'The Prayer' sold four times platinum, so too Guy Sebastian's 'Angels Brought Me Here' and even 'Who's That Girl', but five times platinum is something that's not been seen in recent chart memory for an Aussie artist.

I don't like the way in which Sony chooses whether they will allow a song to chart or not, when clearly the song was well in between position 50-100 on iTunes for the whole week, meaning it certainly sold enough to get a placing. It's so shady. I don't think any other labels are doing this. I also don't like the way they chop and change releases by not following through when they have already given set dates.
