Universal Music has moments ago service the first two light tracks from the forthcoming Elixir album 'First Seed Ripening' (cover art pictured). Inspired by the words of Aussie poet Thomas Shapcott, the new LP is only the band's second (and their first in eight years) and once again features the soaring vocals of song goddess Katie Noonan, along with a string quartet from the Australian Chamber Orchestra.Among the album's 14 tracks (listing below) are cover versions - once of the Split Enz classic 'I Hope I Never' and one of Joni Mitchell's 'My Old Man' - one of two tracks serviced today (the other being 'Snapshot'.
'First Seed Ripening' will be released on Friday August 05.
