DUCK SAUCE : Barbra Streisand

Take a good beat, some slammin' house synths, a quirky idea for a song title and one of the catchiest bouts of the 'oooh-ooohs' that anyone ever encountered and you've got the perfect recipe for a chart smash. And that's precisely what's happening with the new single from Armand Van Helden and A-Trak, also known as 'Duck Sauce'.
Already a No.1 on the ARIA club chart, the single is now starting to impact on the mainstream charts, with the tune already approaching the top ten on the iTunes digital chart. Any wonder why.
What Barbra Streisand herself thinks of the song that bears her name remains to be heard, but in the meantime, the clip is here - and it features a little trek onto the streets of New York.

RIHANNA ADDS MELBOURNE NO.2

Looks like the popularity of Barbadian singer Rihanna is soaring in Melbourne, with touring agent Michael Coppel announcing moments ago that the singer will play a second concert in the Victorian capital as part of her 'Last Girl On Earth' tour in the new year.
With concerts in the other centres still selling, the Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena on March 07 has now sold out, prompting Coppel to add a second date to satisfy demand.
The concert tour is set to feature a mammoth two hour set, including all the hits that have made Rihanna one of the hottest properties in world music in recent years.
The second and final show will take place on Tuesday March 08, with tickets on sale at 9am on Thursday October 14.

It's been on the schedule, off the schedule, on the schedule and off the schedule again. But the latest word through this morning is that N.E.R.D.'s long-awaited new album 'Nothing' will finally get an Australian release in November.
The first taster off the new LP was the track 'Hot 'N' Fun' featuring guest vocals from Nelly Furtado, with the next single called 'Hypnotize U', produced by Daft Punk, due to hit radio on October 11 and digital retail on October 15.
The band, of course, is also Australia bound soon, saucing up Summadayze stages across the country, along with the Pyramid Rick Festival on Victoria's Phillip Island.
Look for N.E.R.D.'s 'Nothing' in Aussie stores on Friday November 05.

GLEE GETS ROCKY

We don't know who the 'Sweet Transvestite' will be in the Glee Cast just yet, but they're taking a jump to the left and a step to the right next month when they release a fab new EP dedicated to the music of the Rocky Horror Show to co-incide with the airing of episode five of season two.
To be released locally (digital and physical) on Friday October 29, the seven track EP features the cast's take on tracks such as 'Sweet Transvestite', 'Damn It, Janet' and the incomparable 'Time Warp'.
In the meantime, Sony Music yesterday afternoon serviced six Glee versions of Britney Spears tracks to radio including 'Toxic', 'I'm A Slave 4 U', 'Stronger' and 'Baby One More Time', all of which feature in tonight's episode on Network 10.

HUNGRY KIDS OF HUNGARY : Coming Around

The gang at EMI is understandably excited about the growing interest in Brisbane indie-pop outfit Hungry Kids Of Hungary - and let's face it, the Queensland capital is fast gaining a reputation for developing some of the finest musical talent in the country.
But with Hungry Kids Of Hungary's debut album 'Escapades' hitting the shops this Friday, they've whacked out the video clip for their latest single 'Coming Around'.
Sadly though, the band seems to have set themselves up right in the middle of a domestic dispute and when the balls start flying (literally), someone's going to get hurt. Chairs are thrown, vases and glasses broken and food's thrown. All in a night's work!

FREE PIERCES

We love it when an up and coming band decides to get some love from the general public by offering up their single as a free download - it's happening quite a bit these days and it can only be a good thing in developing an artists' following.
The latest to join the free download brigade are Alabama raised hippy sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce (The Pierces).
With the British release of their debut EP called 'Love You More' slated for the end of October, the girls have decided to give away a little slice of it free of charge.
The song's called 'To The Grave' and it's a sweet slice of melancholic acoustic guitar-driven pop. And if you'd like a free slice of the pie, simply click HERE for everything you need to know.

SWIFT COUNTDOWN

Universal Music Australia is counting down to the release of Taylor Swift's brand new album 'Speak Now' in Australia by letting her Aussie fans get three weeks of album tasters via the local iTunes store. On each of the next three Tuesdays, fans will be able to have an exclusive listen of a track from Taylor's new album, kicking off with the album's title track this Tuesday, 'Back To December' on October 12 and 'Mean' on October 19. All of these tracks will be available for purchase digitally through iTunes on the dates specified and the releases of the tracks will all lead up to the album's eventual release in Australia on Friday October 29.

JUSTICE RUSH RELEASED

The boys from Australia's Got Talent winning dance troupe Justice Crew, whose new single 'And Then We Dance' popped its head back into the top 50 this week, have had their DVD rush-released into stores.
Due to hit retail on Friday October 08, Sony Music tell us this morning that the DVD has been rush-released to stores.
The DVD features a behind the scenes look at the group, busting a move all around the country and giving an audiences a taste of just how hard the boys work at what they do.
'And Then We Dance' the DVD is in-stores now.

JOE MCELDERRY : Ambitions

Aaah little Joe McElderry. Winner of last year's British season of X Factor, he struggled to hit the No.1 position with his debut single 'The Climb' due to a massive underground push to instead get Rage Against The Machine's track 'Killing In The Name' to the top spot.
So almost one year on, he's about to release his debut single and his debut album.
First new single is 'Ambitions' - a pleasant uptempo pop number that sees Joe utilising his falsetto and trying to distance himself from the show that first brought him fame.
BUT, will it work? For our money, the choreography in the clip looks a little dated and awkward, the song's not really that strong, but Joe looks like he could have walked off the cover of a magazine and it's a fun pop tune. Time will tell if the UK public agrees.

FREE TEMPER

Hot on the heels of The Temper Trap announcing the UK release of a remix version of their stellar debut album 'Conditions' comes news that to celebrate its release, the band is giving away one of the remixes free of charge.
The album's last track, 'Drum Song', ably remixed by BretonLabs and featuring Kate Tempest is available as a free download from the band's website when you impart a little bit of information (including name, city and country).
So what are you waiting for? The free download is available 'til the end of September, so get cracking!
Download for nix or find out more HERE.
And check out 'Conditions : Remixed' in UK stores from November 01.

NEWS WRAP

• So many new releases out to radio this week, but we thought we'd kick it off with the new single from Gold Coast wonderchild Cody Simpson. The new single is called 'Summertime' and it's his second single release.
• Also doing the rounds from Warner this week is Michael Buble's new single 'Hollywood', Dead Letter Circus' 'Cage' and Jason Derulo's new single 'The Sky Is The Limit'. Late last week they also serviced the new My Chemical Romance track called 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)'
• On the Sony side of the draw, just a couple of new tunes to speak of - including the new John Legend and The Roots single called 'Wake Up' and the Dirty Heads track 'Lay Me Down'.
• Universal's leading the pack with new tunes to radio again this week, however, with the new Brandon Flowers single 'Only The Young', Eminem's new single featuring Lil Wayne 'No Love', the new Kelly Rowland tune (mentioned over the weekend), Akon's 'Angel', Donnis' 'Gone' and the corker single 'I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)' by Alex Gaudino - the lead single from the forthcoming Ministry Of Sound : The Annual 2011.
• The other track we should mention (also from Universal) is the new single from Washington's latest album called 'I Believe You, Liar'. The new single is called 'The Hardest Part' and comes as the band begins to take to the stage for the national Parklife tour.
• Speaking of Parklife, with the AFL grand final ending in an historic draw over the weekend, organisers of this weekend's Parklife Festival in the Victorian capital have decided to keep AFL fans happy by announcing plans for a live site, showing the grand final rematch this Saturday.
• Those who loved the stage presence of the late great Freddie Mercury will be thrilled to know that renowned Freddie impersonator Craig Pesco will bring his brand new show 'Freddie Mercury - Let Me Entertain You' to Australia later this year.
He'll kick things off at Star City in Sydney in December, before heading to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane early in the new year.
• Sony Music has revealed the cover image for the forthcoming album from Aussie outfit Gypsy & The Cat. The album's called 'Gilgamesh' and is due for release on Friday October 22. Meanwhile, the band takes to the stage at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney tonight.
• In the UK, the rise and rise of Bruno Mars' star continues, with his single 'Just The Way You Are' debuting in the No.1 spot on the British singles chart this week. Alexandra Burke's single 'Start Without You' had held onto top spot for two weeks, but fell to No.5, leaving positions two through four unchanged. Emma's Imagination debuted in the No.7 spot with her second single 'Focus' and Alex Gaudino's tune 'I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)' debuts at No.10.
• And on the British albums chart, crooner Phil Collins has seen his new album 'Going Back' move up from No.4 to No.1 for its second week, with the highest debut coming in at No.3 for the Manic Street Preachers. Maroon 5's album 'Hands All Over' debuts at No.6.

PARRALOX ALBUM

The gang from Aussie outfit Parralox have ever so slowly been developing into a pop act that excites with each and every release. Made up of John von Ahlen and vocalist Amii, their tunes are strong on delivering consistently global-sounding pop. And their new album 'Metropolis', due for release in November, looks very much like continuing that trend.
The gang at their German-based record label Conzoom Records are also allowing fans to pre-order the LP simply by clicking HERE.

HARPER'S NEW PROJECT

Attention, fans of Ben Harper... The gang from Inertia has announced today that they'll be releasing the debut album from his new project 'Fistful Of Mercy' here in Australia next month. Although he and his bandmates Dhani Harrison and Joseph Arthur only met earlier this year, they immediately hit it off and began working on their debut band LP, which has been named 'As I Call You Down'.
The nine tracker was recorded in Ben's own studio and brings together elements of soul, pop, blues and rock in one scrumptious serving.
'As I Call You Down' is released through Inertia on Friday October 29.

CHRISTINE ANEW

It's been quite the long time since we last saw hide nor hair of new material from Aussie songstress Christine Anu. Apart from the charity single 'Takin' It To The Streets' (with Deni Hines), the last time Christine released solo material was all the way back in 2003 with her album '45 Degrees'.
But that's all now changed with the release over the weekend of Christine's brand new single 'Come Home'.
Written by Matthew Gerrard (who's penned for the likes of Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Delta Goodrem, High School Musical, Hannah Montana etc), the song is unashamedly about love. It's also been produced by top Aussie production team DNA.
Christine is understandably excited about the single's release.
"As soon as I heard this song, I knew I had to make it my own. I feel privileged to be singing one of Mathew Gerrard’s tracks, he is a brilliant songwriter and it’s an honour to team up with him. I love this song; it’s expressive and really captures that desperate feeling of despair when your loved one is far from home or far from your heart. I hope my fans enjoy this single, I certainly enjoyed recording it and can’t wait to perform it live," she said in a statement.
And we've got to say... on just one listen, we're pretty excited about it too.
'Come Home' is available on iTunes now, with a digital remix bundle also available.

CHART WATCH

Look at the girl go! Right from the get-go this week, there was really no doubting that Barbadian singer Rihanna was going to hit the top of the ARIA singles chart with her very pop new single 'Only Girl (In The World)'. But how many downloads did she sell? Let's find out in this week's Chart Watch!

SINGLES : Well yes, Ri-Ri did indeed debut with a very big bang - in at No.1 first week with her new single 'Only Girl (In The World)'. She sold a respectable 22,621 copies of the song in its very first week on sale - a rather strong effort. Taio's 'Dynamite' moves down the one position, still with 18,751 copies in the bag and Usher is steady at No.3 with 15,990 sales of 'DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love'.
Mike Poster moves up another three spots with 'Cooler Than Me' (13,166 sales) - it seems like an eternity that Sony has been working this single and all that hard work is finally paying off.
Outside the top ten, Bird Of Tokyo surge again - up to No.14 with 'Plans', Kings Of Leon debut in the No.19 position with 'Radioactive' (4770 sales), while will.i.am and Nicki Minaj debut just two spots lower down with 4434 sales.
Had Jess Mauboy been allowed to debut with her new tune 'Get 'Em Girls', she'd have come in around the No.23 mark with approximately 4300 sales, though because we're not privy to that information, we can't give you an accurate figure.
Through its use on the Glee comeback episode, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' 'Empire State Of Mind' makes a re-entry into the top 30 at No.25, while the Potbelleez are finally getting some chart love for their single 'Hello' - up to No.26.
Speaking of 'Empire State Of Mind', we're ready for another 'Glee' chart invasion with the return of the series to Network Ten and 'Empire State Of Mind' is just the start. In at No.40 first week with 2589 sales, though behind the original.
Brian & Delta are finally in the top 50 with new single 'Mistakes' - 2475 sales there - and two more top 50 Glee debuts (No.45 with 'Telephone' - 2177 sales - and No.50 with 'Billionaire' - 1861 sales).
Outside the top 50, seems like Adam Lambert's single 'Whataya Want From Me' has had a little second win this week, moving up 13 spots to No.51, Maroon 5's 'Misery' is up ten to No.57 and on the back of its use in a performance on X Factor, Daniel Merriweather's stunning, criminally ignored single 'Red' gets higher than Universal could ever get it - No.65 with 1579 sales.
Travie McCoy's new single 'We'll Be Alright' is in at No.83 (1083 sales), Thirsty Merc's single 'All My Life' debuting at No.84 (1073 sales) gives Warner a back to back, Kings Of Leon's 'Sex On Fire' refuses to go away, back in the top 100 mix at No.85, and there are debuts for Glee ('Listen' at No.91 with 1019 sales), Adrian Lux ('Teenage Crime' at No.92 with 990 sales), Enrique Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger ('Heartbeat' at No.95 with 953 sales) and Lil Wayne with Drake ('Right Above It' at No.98 with 930 sales).

ALBUMS : On the albums side of the draw this week, Linkin Park holds on for a second week on top, still selling almost double the No.2 album - Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream'. Linkin - 10,181, Katy - 5574.
Spookily again this week, it's the odd numbers in the top ten that have the debuts. Kasey Chambers debuts in the No.3 spot with 'Little Bird' (5094 sales), Santana debuts at No.5 with 'Guitar Heaven' (4419 copies), Maroon 5 is in at No.7 with 'Hands All Over' (3640 sales) and Phil Collins' new album 'Going Back' debuts in the No.9 spot with 2666 sales.
Tim McGraw's 'Southern Voice' benefits even more from the repackage - up to No.12 with 'Southern Voice' with almost half of all those sales coming from Queensland.
Metallica's highly collectable 'Six Feet Down Under' EP plops in at No.17 (1963 copies), while more Tim McGraw action at No.19 with 'Greatest Hits Volumes 1, 2 and 3' hammering its way into the top 50 at No.19 - again, almost half of all sales in Queensland.
Not such good news though for Interpol, Grinderman and Brandon Flowers, whose albums all plummet - by 15, 15 and 17 spots respectively.
With the buzz surrounding their new album growing by the day, people have all of a sudden discovered Kings Of Leon's last album 'Only By The Night' again - back into the top 50 mix at No.43 (849 sales), and it's followed by the Doors' best-of, Glee 3, Blue King Brown, U2 and Pink.
Outside the top 50, a big move for Thirsty Merc's album 'Mousetrap Heart - up 41 spots to No.54, the Fleetwood Mac best-of is back - at No.74, so too Gaga's original 'The Fame' (No.81) and SuBo's 'I Dreamed A Dream' (No.85).
The 'Camp Rock 2' soundtrack struggles into the top 100 - just - at No.98 with 434 sales.

GET OUTTA - WARNER LOCAL SINGLE

Warner Music has this morning finally confirmed local details for the new Kylie single 'Get Outta My Way'. With the single dropping out of the top 100 singles chart this week, the physical single and digital bundle can't come soon enough. But for Kylie purists hoping for something a little extra on the local physical single, you're not in luck - ours mirrors the tracklisting of the deluxe single from the UK - the single, four remixes and the video.
Even the digital bundle (below) is the same as that in the UK.

02. Bimbo Jones Club Edit
03. Sidney Samson Remix
04. 7th Heaven Radio Edit
05. Paul Harris Dub Remix
06. Daddys Groove Remix
07. SDP Extended Mix

Thankfully it won't be long now (breathe...) before we can get out mitts on both - they're both due out on Friday October 08.

MIAMI HORROR : Echoplex

Gotta love it when an artist does something visual purely for us online peeps. Miami Horror has done just that with a video for the track 'Echoplex' from their debut album 'Illumination'. Though not a single proper per se, the clip has been produced to highlight the brilliance of the LP that debuted in the ARIA top ten at the end of last month.
Though most definitely home-grown, this clip has an almost Scandinavian feel to it. Soft lenses, beautiful women with long flowing locks, ethereal colouring, an almost whispered vocal and some rather stunning underwater shots. It's reminiscent somehow of some of Royksopp's past work. And that's no bad thing in our books.

Echoplex from Miami Horror on Vimeo.

JAMIROQUAI : White Knuckle Ride

To quote Victoria Beckham (hey, there's a first time for everything) from the Spice Girls movie 'Spiceworld', 'Hang on to your knickers, girls!', 'cause Jamiroquai's about to take you on one heck of a white knuckle ride. The clip to Jay Kay and the boys' brand new single 'White Knuckle Ride' has indeed broken and it's most certainly a white knuckle ride, as the singer pilots a helicopter (!) in hot pursuit of a Porsche screaming through the desert at a hundred miles an hour. But why's he chasing them? And will he catch them? You'll just have to watch and see...

NEON'S SNEAKY MIXTAPE

Oh yes, those sneaky people at Aussie dance label Neon have kept this one on the quiet - preferring instead to whack it on out and not really tell anyone that was was coming or that it was there. But with eagle eyes, we can tell you that the new Neon mixtape compilation 'Essential 10' is indeed out now (digitally only) and that it's packed with some of Neon's best and brightest from the last couple of months.
Dirth South's 'Phazing' is among the tunes, so too TV Rock's club stormer 'Elevated' and perhaps our favourite, Zoe Badwi's 'Freefallin' in its TV ROCK & Nordean remixed guise. Better still, it's all cooked to perfection by Neon's own Grant Smillie.
'Essential 10 - Volume 1' is available digitally now.

KELLY AT RADIO

We're having a little bit of a giggle tonight because Universal has serviced the new Kelly Rowland single 'Forever And A Day' to Australian radio and with it this quote, "Kelly Rowland returns with the follow-up to her smash single 'Commander'."
Now we don't know about you, but we don't really know that a peak of No.61 constitutes a "smash single".
In New Zealand and Germany perhaps. Even in the UK where it peaked inside the top ten. But No.61? Smash single... no.
Sadly, 'Commander' was one of those super, super songs that should have been a friggin' big hit - had it not got lost in the midst of all the other fine Universal Music releases they take out to radio week after week.
Hopefully the same won't be said for 'Forever And A Day', which is another brilliant David Guetta collaboration. But when Universal's gone out with it, Alex Gaudino's tune, new Eminem, new Brandon Flowers, new Akon and more, you know it's going to struggle to be heard over the din.
Stick with it, Universal - Kelly's a star and with that big, big voice, she deserves a big, big hit down under.
In other news, they've hinted that the singer's new album, her third, is set for a 2010 release.

LOOKBACK

VENGABOYS : WE LIKE TO PARTY

We have to admit a little something in here - and some might say 'the shame of it', given we're a pop music blog and as such we should really like all pop. That said, back in 1998, we couldn't STAND this song. In much the same way that Steps had a novelty hit with '5, 6, 7, 8' (we hated that too), the Dutch outfit came to town with a bus-full of fun, bright lyrics, bright costumes and... well it was just all very bright. That said, it's a wonder that Vengabus got anywhere it was so old. And though this single didn't quite hit the No.1 position down under, it certainly burrowed its way into our pop psyche for a very very long time.

SATURDAY NEWS WRAP #25

• The team at Vicious waited 'til late in the week to sample the new single from Ian Carey to Australian radio. The DJ's new single is called 'Let Loose' and features the vocals of Mandy Ventrice.
• EMI has this wee crowed about the release of Julia Stone's new solo record 'The Memory Machine' on October 01. That said, the album debuted in the top 100 on last weekend's album chart, so we're assuming it's out there WAAAAY early.
• Seems like Glee Mania is hitting all over again - and how. The casts take on the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys number 'Empire State Of Mind' has already broken into the iTunes top ten locally and other songs from the new series are following suit. The new series premiered on Wednesday night to an audience of more than 1.2 million.
• Though we've still yet to receive confirmation on cover images and tracklistings, the team at Sony Music is ready to drag out a selection of 'Essentials' albums from some of our old Aussie favourites. Artists featured are Tina Arena, Bachelor Girl, Human Nature, Merril Bainbridge - and even Girlfriend! No word yet on whether a Leah Haywood one is forthcoming.
• Michael Coppel has announced a final release of tickets for the forthcoming Metallica concerts in Brisbane. The new allocation is on sale now.
• Speaking of Michael Coppel, they've announced a very special one-off show in Newcastle for former Live lead singer Ed Kowalczyk. Tickets for the October 30 gig at the Newcastle Leagues are on sale now.
• Independent label Inertia has this week announced a new distribution deal with the iconic Sub Pop records. The deal will see Inertia take over Sub Pop's upcoming and previous catalogue effective immediately.
• Irish group The Script are to take the stage on the X Factor elimination show on Monday October 04. They'll follow this appearance up with a little performance on Channel 7's 'Sunrise' on Friday October 08.
• Paul Dempsey's new single 'We'll Never Work In This Town Again' will be released digitally on Friday October 01. The digital bundle will feature the title track and three live videos ('Bats', 'Fast Friends' and 'Have You Ever Fallen Out Of Love?'), all recorded at Melbourne's Forum Theatre.
• The gang from Thousand Needles In Red are set to film their forthcoming gig at the Ferntree Gully Hotel in Melbourne because they're going to be using some of it in the video for their new single 'Brand New Day'. You might get your mug on TV!
• UK singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg, better known as Passenger, has announced a series of headline shows around the country on the back of his supporting role on the Boy & Bear tour. He plays W.A, S.A, VIC, NSW and QLD - but not in that order. The solo tour kicks off in Perth on November 04. More details HERE.
• And to the US charts finally and on the Billboard 100 singles chart this week, it's all about Bruno Mars and 'Just The Way You Are'. The singer's smooth soul sounds see him move up two spots to nab No.1 from Katy Perry. But look out - is that Rihanna rocketing an incredible 72 spots to No.3? You betcha. In the meantime, look for a massive local debut for Ri-Ri tomorrow night.
• And on the US album chart, Linkin Park crashes into the No.1 position with their new LP 'A Thousand Suns'. They chased off competition from Trey Songz, Jamey Johnson, Robert Plant, Weezer and Brandon Flowers, who all enjoyed top ten debuts.

MAROON 5 WINNERS

Well deep on a Friday evening, we're busy busy pulling out the winners of our fab Maroon 5 albums with thanks to the team at Universal Music Australia. The new album, as you know, is in the shops now and features the hot new single 'Misery'.
As always, we have five lucky winners - and the CDs this week are making their way to;

There youse are! Congratulations peeps, thanks to all who entered, and don't forget that we have another fab competition already live on the site! YAY!

MUTU : Familiar

We made mention a couple of weeks about the forthcoming single from Canberra born, Sydney based singer Mutu. 'Familiar' it is - and as a 'debut' single of sorts, it's pretty strong. The video features the singer purring to camera from the car to the club, dreaming about getting the attention of the laydees. Well, one in particular. Seems she must have the same idea too, 'cause she ends up giving the singer a bit of a blindfolded surprise of sorts.
There's some pretty good Usher-esque choreography in here too. And for a local offering, we concur with DJ Nino Brown - it's pretty strong stuff.

JAMES BLUNT : Stay The Night

The new single from UK singer/songwriter James Blunt is a slight musical departure from him. Gone are the power ballads and in is a new summer-loving, slightly up-beat style that could have come from the mouth of Jason Mraz. In fact, this new tune from James, ace as it is, sounds rather a lot like Jason's recent single 'I'm Yours', albeit a little more up-tempo.
The clip is about sun, fun, surf, falling in love and staying the night - not the kind of tune you might expect from Master B, but it's here and it's a fair bit lovely.

DVDEPECHE

EMI have announced the local release of the forthcoming Depeche Mode live DVD entitled 'Tour of the Universe – Live In Barcelona'. The live recording was captured over two nights at Barcelona's Palau St Jordi during the band's global trek in support of their recent album 'Sounds Of The Universe'.
The DVD is set to contain 21 tracks from the show including the classics 'Personal Jesus', 'I Feel You' and more recent tracks such as 'Wrong'.
A bonus DVD will contain a behind the scenes look at the concert as it travels around the world, screen shots from the tour, rehearsal footage and bonus tracks, along with video clips for 'Wrong', 'Peace', 'Hole To Feed' and 'Fragile Tension' - all from the band's last album.
'Tour of the Universe – Live In Barcelona' will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Friday November 05.

JESS'S BEHIND THE SCENES

Jessica Mauboy, whose new single 'Get 'Em Girls' is already doing rather nicely thankyou very much on the iTunes digital charts, has revealed a little behind-the-scenes action from the single's video shoot. It shows Jess once again growing as an artist - and let's face it, there ain't many young poppets these day who could boast they've had Snoop Dogg on his knees before them. The video clip proper is due to drop "shortly".

JACK'S BACK

You can never keep a good performer down, and Sony Music has today confirmed that Aussie icon John Farnham will release a brand new album on October 15.
Simply entitled 'Jack', the LP is set to feature seven brand new tunes, as well as cover versions of some of Mister Farnham's favourite performers, including Ray Charles and Percy Sledge.
First up from the new LP will be a medley containing both 'Hit The Road Jack' and 'Fever' - and it's set to hit radio tomorrow morning.
With tracklisting below, the album is set for release on Friday October 15.

TEMPER REMIXED

News through from the UK overnight is that our very own The Temper Trap will see a remixed version of their debut album 'Conditions' released in Britain in November.
The album's tracklist chronologically mirrors that of the original version, but each of the songs, including the singles 'Sweet Disposition', 'Fader' and 'Love Lost' are in remixed form.
Re-creation duties for the album are handed to the likes of Rollo and Sister Bliss of Faithless fame, Peter, Bjorn & John and Hervé.
'Conditions : Remixed' is out in the UK on November 01. No word yet on a local release.

TOURING : Ryan Meeking

Young Ryan Meeking was one of the first artists we ever interviewed here on auspOp. He had a very wicked sense of humour and a swag of good tunes behind him and as such we've got a little soft spot. So imagine our surprise to hear that he's back with not only a brand new single (it's called 'We're Still Saying Nothing'), but a tour to boot.
But we'll get to the tour shortly. After a little break from last year's musical interlude (and dropping 'And The Few' from the band name), Ryan popped off to the United States to begin recording the band's debut album. And it's after a big, long, two month process that the band has decided to kick up its heels and trek across the eastern seaboard to give audiences a little sample of what they've been missing since last year's 'Night Owls' EP.
They're essentially playing Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria - in that order, but they will finish things off at the end of October with a gig at the Jive Bar in Adelaide.
Tickets for the shows are on sale now. The band's new single 'We're Still Saying Nothing' will be available digitally from Friday October 08.

October 09 : Caloundra (Caloundra Music Festival)
