Universal Music has announced this afternoon that Short Stack's latest album 'This Is Bat Country' has officially been classified GOLD, for sales into stores of more than 35,000 copies. The album now joins its first single 'Planets' in it's gold award and the accreditation also comes off the back of their win in the Channel [V] OZ Artist for 2010 award over the weekend.
Shaun, Bradie and Andy will hit the stage as the special guests of Good Charlotte during their tour of the country in April.

When is ARIA going to stop the ridiculousness that is Gold & Platinum accreditation??? Especially now when the chart information is so transparent.
Jessica Mauboy is a perfect example - in the three weeks her new album has been on the charts, it has sold only 8,058 copies, yet has been certified Gold for 35,000 units - over 4 times what has actually been sold - by Sony. False representation as far as I'm concerned.
Why can't ARIA change the rules and make it that you can't get a Gold or Platinum award unless you actually SELL the required number of albums?
