NEWS WRAP

• Another swag of new music at Aussie radio this week, including the new single from The Verses (Ella & Jesse Hooper). The reworked version of 'Running Away', features a guest vocal from ARIA nominated singer/songwriter Dan Sultan.
• Also at radio from Warner this week are 'MK Ultra' - the fourth single to be lifted from Muse's latest album 'The Resistance' and Lupe Fiasco's new single 'The Show Goes On' - taken from his forthcoming album 'Lasers', due in early March.
• On the Universal side of the coin this week, there are the aforementioned new tunes from Take That and Rihanna ftg. Drake, plus the latest from Short Stack - the single called 'We Dance To A Different Disco Honey'. It's the second to be lifted from the boys' new album 'This Is Bat Country'.
• Also from Universal, The Only's new single 'Bad Girls Go To Hell' and Bon Jovi's 'No Apologies'.
• EMI has serviced 'I Run To You' - the second single from Lady Antebellum's latest LP, a live version of Depeche Mode's 'Walking In My Shoes' (lifted from their new live DVD set, out this Friday), 30 Seconds To Mars' 'Hurricane' featuring Kanye West and 'Black Crow' - another highlight track from Angus & Julia Stone's album 'Down The Way'.
• Three new singles from Sony too this week (with Guy Sebastian's new single curiously still missing in action). There's new tunes for Kings Of Leon ('Pyro'), Usher ftg. Jay-Z ('Hot Tottie') and Mark Ronson ftg. Boy George ('Somebody To Love Me').
• Speaking of Sony, they've revealed the cover image for the new Gypsy & The Cat single 'The Pipers Song' (below). They've also hinted at a rather spectacular interactive kaleidoscope to accompany the release of the band's album 'Gilgamesh' later this month.

• Though the track still hasn't gone to Aussie radio, it would appear that 'Poison' - the brand new single from former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger - will also be released digitally on Friday November 19.
• Sony Music has announced that R&B star Chris Brown's new single 'Yeah 3x' will hit Aussie radio stations from next Monday. The clip recently premiered online (catch it HERE).
• Michael Coppel has announced a second intimate live show for Crowded House frontman Neil Finn at the Seymour Centre in Sydney. After his November 18 show sold out, Coppel added a second and final date - the night before (November 17).
• The gang from legendary US supergroup Chicago were in town recently and they took to the stage at the Entertainment Quarter last Thursday night to perform a very special show for MAX Sessions. With a star-studded audience of just 200 people, the show will be broadcast on MAX on Thursday December 16 at 9:30pm.
• A bit of bad news for local fans of Kelly Rowland, with the singer's forthcoming album disappearing from this week's Universal Music release schedule.
• Better news for fans of Cheryl Cole, with Universal confirming that a digital remixes EP of the singer's latest track 'Promise This' will hit digital retail on Friday November 19.
• And great news for Cheryl over in the UK with reports that the single is the fastest selling of the year so far. 'Promise This' debuted at No.1 on the British charts yesterday, even outselling the all-conquering Rihanna and 'Only Girl (In The World)'. Peter Andre's new single 'Defender' (yes, he's still going) debuted respectably at No.14.
• And on the UK albums chart, Kings Of Leon remain in the No.1 spot, but Michael Buble's knocking at the door. The Canadian crooner moved up five places with a reworked version of his album 'Crazy Love'. Last year's X Factor winner Joe McElderry saw his album debut at No.3, while new boy band The Wanted's eponymous debut popped in at a respectable No.4. Taylor Swift (No.6), Barbra Streisand (No.8) and The Soliders (No.10) were the other top ten debuts for the week.

Hey Anonymous,

While we've yet to hear of anyone finding a copy, we were in contact with a respected journalist yesterday who concurred that yes, Sony was rush-releasing Jess's album into stores (as well as Susan Boyle's album) to hopefully prevent Taylor Swift from hitting No.1 with 'Speak Now'.

That's the problem when you have so much on your plate. Especially when you are so hands on with your music. Its hard to keep up. His fans wait patiently. Well maybe a teeny little bit impatient.
