NELLY FURTADO : Night Is Young

Okay, so the cover image for Nelly Furtado's new single 'Night Is Young' (left) isn't the prettiest thing we've seen all year (in fact it's possibly one of our least favourites and it might possibly put you off even having a listen to the track itself), but we have to give points to the singer for continuing the use of the 'Nelly Furtado' font/logo ever since the days she was convinced she was more closely matched in her genetic makeup to the avian spectrum of the animal kingdom.
The thing about this single is that it would be huge given the chance. But will music directors around the country look to the past (as they tend to do) and deem her too 'AC' for today's airwaves? Will they pigeon-hole her as they often do other artists just because she had a couple of kooky hits earlier in the century?
Take the blinders off, kids - 'cause this is a pop/dance hit just waiting to be discovered - and the girl is hot!
