A relatively good week for the No.1s on both singles and albums side of the charts this week, with both surpassing the magical 25,000 mark! What else can we say other than... It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
SINGLES : Though we're not fans of the song (far from it), it would seem that more than 25,000 Australians are. 25,642 to be precise, as the Black Eyed Peas hit the No.1 position again in Australia with their new single 'The Time (The Dirty Bit)'. As predicted last week, the song rises from No.10 to No.1 with a bucketload of sales.
But Ke$ha's also in the mix too, with her single 'We R Who We R' also faring rather well in the sales stakes. It sold a very healthy 22,490 copies and was down to No.2.
Even the rest of the top five sales were pretty damned decent - Far East Movement bagged 19,467. Katy Perry was only 370 sales behind them and P!nk was only 136 copies behind her!
Even Rihanna down in position No.6 was no slouch, getting 18,938 more copies of 'Only Girl (In The World)' - just 23 copies behind P!nk.
And the top ten was splashed with P!nk, as the singer's second new single from her best-of package, 'F**kin' Perfect', debuted in the No.10 position with a respectable 13,443 sales.
Jessica Mauboy's new single 'Saturday Night' seems to be finding more favour with audiences than its predecessor, with a No.13 debut bringing with it 8113 first week sales and Bruno Mars is into the top 20 with his new single 'Grenade' and 7222 sales.
The Glee Cast and Rihanna surge into the top 30, but Sia's 'Clap Your Hands' falls out of it.
New at No.34 is Boy & Bear's cover version of the Crowded House classic 'Fall At Your Feet', taken from the new tribute album 'He Will Have His Way'. 3609 copies of that will no doubt make the brothers Finn rather happy.
Good Charlotte and Adrian Lux surge, while James Blunt's single 'Stay The Night' makes its long-awaited debut in the top 50 at No.42.
Short Stack's new single 'We Dance To A Different Disco, Honey' is brand spanking new at No.43 (2777 sales) and the Glee Cast have some more top 50 chart love at No.49.
Outside the top 50, Potbelleez debut at No.63 with their new single 'Shake It' (1801 sales), Taylor Swift's single 'Mine' plummets from No.38 to No.64 in a week - a big drop, but so is Sia's - her track 'I Go To Sleep' dropping from No.32 to No.66 after its use in the 'Packed To The Rafters' death episode.
Ke$ha's visit pays dividends with her former No.1 'Tik Tok' - it's up to No.70 - and the Ronan Keating/Paulini duet benefits from a little national exposure on the X Factor. 'Believe Again' is in at No.73 with 1459 sales.
Martin Solveig & Dragonette are in at No.86 with 'Hello' (1173 copies) and The Jezabels pop in at No.93 with 'Dark Storm' (1045 copies).
ALBUMS : On the albums chart this week, big success for P!nk, with her 'Greatest Hits... So Far' set reeling in an impressive 30,672 sales, more than double her nearest competitor (Bon Jovi) at No.2.
Rihanna debuts in the No.03 spot with her new album 'Loud' - 11,280 people went out to buy that in its first week.
In a busy week for new releases, there were more top ten debuts. The 'He Will Have His Way' Finn Brothers tribute compilation debuts in the No.5 position with 9102 sales, and 8446 Short Stack fans raced out last week to seize a copy of the band's new album 'This Is Bat Country'.
Another top ten debut - this time for Irish singer and Aussie X Factor judge Ronan Keating, whose new album 'Duet' debuts respectably at No.7 with 8169 first week sales.
Just missing a top ten berth is Keith Urban's new album 'Get Closer' - though he was more than 750 copies off the mark with 4582 first week sales - and Metallica's second installment of the 'Six Feet Down Under' EPs is in at No.13 with 3137 copies sold.
Powderfinger's 'iTunes Live' set does quite well on 100% digital sales to debut at No.15. It bagged 2491 first week sales. And Josh Groban is in at No.21 with new album 'Illuminations' (2230 copies).
Gypsy & The Cat's 'Gilgamesh' comes in at No.24 (2016 sales), Human Nature's 'Vegas : Songs From Sin City' is in at No.27 (1868 sales) and Mariah Carey's 'Merry Christmas II You' debuts at No.37 with 1466 first week sales.
The Baseballs' album 'Strike' hits the top 50 at No.39, while the 'Rocky Horror Glee Show' EP falls 24 spots and Straalen McCallum's album 'A Little Faith' is in at No.44 with 1305 copies sold.
Cam Henderson's LP is back in the top 50, so too Phil Collins' best of 'Hits'.
Outside the top 50, John Butler Trio's album 'April Uprising' - at No.21 last week - is down to No.52 this week, but Powderfinger's best-of is back in the top 100 at No.60.
New at No.65 is Kid Cudi's new LP 'Man On The Moon 2 : The Legend Of Mr.Rager' (976 sales), new at No.72 is A Day To Remember's 'What Separates Me From You' (886 copies) and Engelbert Humperdinck's 'Released' enters the top 100 at No.91 (753 sales).
