AUSTRALIA'S NEXT GAGA SINGLE

It's literally JUST gone to radio - five days ahead of schedule. 'Dance In The Dark' is the brand new local single from Lady Gaga's incredible album 'The Fame Monster' which has already spawned the hits 'Bad Romance', 'Telephone' and 'Alejandro'.
With more than a billion hits on Youtube, more than 10 million album sales throughout the world, and more than one million singles sales in Australia alone, expect the Gaga juggernaut to keep on rolling while we patiently await her new album, the release for which the singer has reportedly delayed until next year.

I heard that "Alejandro" was supposed to be the final single from 'The Fame Monster', because a brand new single was supposed to be out soon, before the new album that was going to come out at the end of this year, but since it has been delayed to 2011, that explains why "Dance in the Dark" is getting released. I'm happy anyway. Nice way to finish off such a fantastic album!

No, it's a good song but it should be Teeth that gets released.

NO, it's an alright song, but Teeth should have been the final single.

Earlier in 2010 Lady Gaga’s ‘Monster Ball’ World Tour made huge waves with fans and press alike, prompting one Australian journalist to recently say: “Hey Madonna – we don’t miss you anymore!” (The Herald Sun).

‘Dance In The Dark’ is the brand new forthcoming single from the world’s newest pop megastar Lady Gaga. Taken from last year’s ‘The Fame Monster’ album, it’s a modern, hook-laden pop gem that has all the makings of another huge hit for the American star.

Gaga’s stratospheric career has seen massive chart successes and single/album sales, unprecedented levels of media attention and Youtube hits, and awards a-plenty.

Absolutely amazing news, I knew they'd pick this track, it's definitely a stand-out next to 'Telephone' and 'Bad Romance' on the album EP.

Hey BSB745,

We've heard nothing about a video for 'Dance In The Dark' at this stage, but if it's a global release, surely there must be a clip on the way.

As for Evanescence, we've heard nothing about its release yet - there is the rumour that it's been delayed, but that could be just a rumour.

is there any information on a physical release for this or will it be strictly a digital single?

auspOp said...

Hey Jason,

Given there was no physical Aussie release for 'Telephone' or 'Alejandro', we'd say there was no chance of having a physical of 'Dance In The Dark', sadly.
A shame, 'cause done properly, they would sell well and have fantastic export potential.
Australian copies of 'Poker Face' are now fetching hundreds of dollars on eBay.

Auspop, do you know if this will be a global single?

Thanks

The cheek of it all! The Gaga Nazis who have locked the "Dance In The Dark" page on Wikipedia claim that you're not a reliable source because there's no mention of the press release on www.ladygaga.com Clearly the press release was issued to the Australian press and the website is just listed for promotional purposes. In any case, they refuse to acknowledge that it is an official single! I am officially offended on your behalf! You guys are *never* wrong!

auspOp said...

Hey Anonymous,

Not sure about its place on the global stage, but Universal has serviced it to radio locally.

And for Anonymous #2,

You can tell the Gaga doubters of Wikiworld that we guarantee its authenticity.

Unfortunately, their response was, "AuspOp is just a blog - anyone can start a blog", so they refuse to accept you as a "reliable source". I remain officially offended on your behalf! Stupid pedants!!!

auspOp said...

Hey Anonymous,

Well they'll have to believe us now - it's the fourth most added track to Australian radio this week.
We'll never knowingly publish false information.

Nope, they won't even accept that. "Radio stations can play anything they like" - they will only accept an official statement printed in a magazine/reputable news site or on the artist's webpage/record company page. For a single to be a single (according to Wikipedia), it has to be actively promoted by the artist/their label as an official single. Even if "Dance In The Dark" reaches the Top 10, unless Lady Gaga or her record company promote it, it won't be considered a single. It's completely absurd! You guys have very quickly developed a reputation for only reporting official/confirmed information. Keep up the brilliant effort!

auspOp said...

Hey Anonymous (again),

Well if it's any consolation, Universal Music are promoting the single to radio as we speak and it's already the fourth most added track to Australian radio.
And if it begins to chart, they'll more than likely have to include it in the charting singles section of her discography.
