Now when we say 'free Little Boots', we obviously don't mean that we're going to be sending you tiny little pairs of shoes. Absolutely no, but when Warner Music is offering up the Fred Falke remix of the new Little Boots track 'New In Town' (the single of which is due in-stores on June 12) as a free download, we feel we have to let you know about it. FREE LITTLE BOOTS

TEEN QUEENS : Be My Baby
It's hard to believe that an Aussie girl group that performed updated cover versions of classic '50s and '60s hits would work on the Aussie charts, but back in 1992 and 1993, that's precisely what happened. And before she made it big in kids super-group Hi-5, this is where you'd find a very young Kellie Hoggart. Almost 30 years after the Ronettes conquered the US charts with the single, the Teen Queens achieved similar success in Australia, with the song making it into the top ten on the ARIA singles chart. The clip? Well it's pastel dresses at three paces. It's '50s diner (without Peter Griffin's 'Surfin Bird'), it's outdated bikinis and it's an explosive pillow-fight. It's also clear that we've come a heck of a long way in 17 years of video making in Australia.

ROB THOMAS BREAKS COVER
TOURING : The Audreys
Adelaide formed blues outfit The Audreys are about to release something very large, very black and very special. Vinyls! The band's two albums 'Between Last Night And Us' and 'When The Flood Comes' are about to be released on delicious, groovy, analoguey vinyl in a very special, very limited gate-fold vinyl. And so limited is the release that only 500 copies are being pressed in the initial run, which hits shops on July 10. The band has also announced three shows to celebrate the release of the vinyl albums - one each in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, with tickets for each going on sale first thing on Monday morning, June 01.August 20 : Sydney (The Basement)
August 21 : Adelaide (Governor Hindmarsh)
August 22 : Melbourne (Northcote Social Club)
LADY GAGA : Paparazzi
Okay, we've seen some decidedly decadent video clips throughout the first half of 2009, but we're not afraid to tip our hats to Lady Gaga for the clip to what's bound to be her next Aussie single 'Paparazzi'. The singer, who's currently touring Australia with the Pussycat Dolls, has pulled out all the stops to create something that's very very grand - more of a short film than a video clip, if you will. Set in a delicious castle, surrounded by incredible opulence, we find the singer cavorting on a bed with some handsome stranger, bathed in a sea of dollar notes from the United States Of Lady Gaga. The stranger takes her out onto the balcony where (wouldn't you know it) she's snapped by the... PAPARAZZI! You only need to watch this seven-plus minute clip to realise that Gaga and the people around her are acutely aware that she possesses everything she needs to carve out a long-term career in pOp. She's the real deal and this clip is pure class. Could the real next Madonna have finally arrived?PUSSYCAT DOLLS : Hush Hush, Hush Hush
While lead doll Nicole Scher-zinger continues to deny reports that the all-conquering girl group will be going their own way at the end of their current world tour, the video for their brand new single 'Hush Hush, Hush Hush' has just surfaced. And speaking of surfacing, that's precisely what Miss Nicole does for the opening moments of the clip, reclining in a bath full of bubbles, her hair soaked, dark and wet (this review's fast turning into some kind of Mills & Boon novel). And just when you're getting worried that she's on the verge of slipping over on the bathroom tiles, she bursts through the door in a silver hooded number where she's joined by her fellow pussies in crime. Then she makes it into the roller-skate room, where there are feather boas, another gratuitous plug for Campari (this is a worrying trend in clips these days), there's a party room with a rather familiar blogging face as the DJ, plenty of sparkle, plenty of glitz, a nod to a disco classic and oodles of glamour. It's how all good pOp clips should be.TOURING : The Game
29 year old US rapper The Game (pictured left with his solution to the global swine flu outbreak) is bringing his 2009 LAX Tour to Australia for a series of shows in August, taking in dates in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. The rapper is set to perform all his hits on the tour, with tickets for all dates going on sale on Thursday June 11.August 05 : Perth (Metro City)
August 06 : Adelaide (HQ Club)
August 07 : Melbourne (Festival Hall)
August 08 : Sydney (Luna Park)
August 10 : Gold Coast (Convention Centre)

JESSICA MAUBOY : Because
The delightful Jessica Mauboy is hitting retail in the coming weeks, appearing in-store in support of her brand new single 'Because'. But here (fresh as a morning crumpet) is her brand new video. And once again we can see Jess blooming into an incredible artist who has the pieces it takes to achieve global success. Killer voice, a hint of vulnerability and some bloody good songs. BLUR BREAKS COVER
The cover has been lifted on the forthcoming Blur compilation album 'Midlife', announced by EMI Australia this week. The album, a 25 track two disc set, features some of the band's biggest hits, and is set for a release in Australia on Friday June 26.
BEYONCE : Ego
Gosh there's a heck of a lot going on in the wonderful world of Beyonce at the moment - what with the new 'Above And Beyonce' compilation being released in the United States and a new concert for Brisbane announced just yesterday. But that's not all! There's even this new video clip for her next single 'Ego'! B's back with her girls - dancing as a threesome again, this time against a very black brick wall. Impeccably dressed, incredible well rehearsed, and this time with a piece of occasional furniture as a prop! Minimalist, effective, but we're not sure if it's much of a single.IN THE SHOPS FRIDAY MAY 29, 2009

PRESETS RESET
News through to the auspOp 'newsdesk' this morning is that Julian & Kim, better known as the Presets, have been forced to reschedule live shows for both tonight in Wollongong and tomorrow night in Newcastle due to illness. In a statement, their management said, "During last night's show at the AIS Centre in Canberra it became apparent that singer Julian Hamilton's voice was giving way. On doctor's orders it's been advised that Julian rest completely for the next 72 hours.
While both Julian and Kim are devastated to have to reschedule shows, the good news is that it's been possible to move the two shows to the same venues next week."
The Wollongong show has now been rescheduled for Wednesday June 03 at the WIN Entertainment Centre and the Newcastle show has been rescheduled to Thursday June 04 at Panthers.
The Sydney and Brisbane dates will remain unchanged.

THE SATURDAYS : Work
One day when the all-conquering Girls Aloud finally make their way to pOp heaven (and we hope that's still a number of years away), these gorgeous girlies will be waiting in the wings to take over the mantle as the biggest girl group in the United Kingdom. Single No.5 from their debut album 'Chasing Lights' is the rather catchy 'Work', the video for which has just premiered in the UK - and voila! Here 'tis for you to wrap your peepers around 'cause the girls are all looking smokin' hot atop that there illuminated catwalk. It's a little industrial, it's a little sexy, it's a little dark and moody, and as with all good British girl groups these days, we've got buckley's chance of Universal Music releasing it in Australia.HAPPY auspOp BIRTHDAY!
Yes, it's true - today marks auspOp's 1st birthday! One year ago today, we hit the web for the very first time with album reviews for both Sam Sparro and Cyndi Lauper (we were glowing in our praise of both). 12 months on, our reader numbers continue to grow to the point where we now enjoy in excess of 20,000 unique visitors each and every month. So we say thanks to you for being part of the auspOp journey. And to say 'thankyou', we've got plenty of delicious prizes to give away in the coming weeks. There are copies of Neon's brand new compilation 'Neon Essentials' currently up for grabs (details HERE), but there's plenty more on the way. See tomorrow for more details! And again, thanks for playing such an important role in auspOp's being.

GAGA CHAPEL AIRDATE
The worrying trend for the Pussycat Dolls on their current tour of Australia is that everywhere they seem to go, Lady Gaga seems to be stealing their thunder. Many punters are actually rating Gaga's performance higher than the band she's there to provide to support to. But last week, Lady Gaga had an audience all of her own with a dynamic set in inner-city Sydney as part of this year's Kia Soul Live At The Chapel series. For those not lucky enough to be part of the exclusive audience, fear not - Channel 7 and Channel [V] have announced broadcast times for the show - and they're just around the corner.
Channel 7 will screen Gaga's show on Sunday June 21 at midday.
Channel [V] will screen Gaga's show on Tuesday July 07 at 7:00pm.
UNIVERSAL'S COOL LIST
Universal Music has unveiled some of the details of it's forthcoming compilation album 'The Cool List' and from the gif file attached, it very much looks like it has the goods to become one of the most exciting pOp compilations of the year (behind the unassailable FuturePOP 2.0 compile). The two disc, 42 track release features tracks from The Killers, Empire Of The Sun, Lykke Li, Ladyhawke, Van She and N.E.R.D. on disc one, while disc two features Lady Gaga, Sam Sparro, Pnau, Deadmau5 and Wiley.
But where the FuturePOP compile stayed true to it's pOp direction, the Cool List compile takes on a decidedly urban slant with Phrase, Snob Scrilla, Lil' Wayne and N.A.S.A. The release is scheduled to appear in stores on June 26.

There's no confirmed release for this down under at the moment, but Beyonce's record company over in the United States are about to release this new compilation album 'Above And Beyonce'. The release features an eight track remix CD and a DVD, complete with all the videos from her 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' long player. It hits stores in the United States in the middle of next month.
INTRODUCING SALLY SINGLETON
What do you get when you take advertising guru John Singleton and former Miss World and TV personality Belinda Green and allow them to make babies (there's no delicate way to put it)? You get Sony Music Australia's bright new starlet Sally Singleton - and her debut single 'Tomorrow' has just hit her OFFICIAL MYSPACE page. The track is extraordinarily bouncy - we're thinking somewhere between Feist/Lenka and S Club 7 - and it's lyrics are all about grabbing life by the balls and making things happen in your world. The track is now at radio, while the physical and digital singles are released on June 26.
FREE MERRIWEATHER
The good folk over at Melbourne soul star Daniel Merri-weather's record company Universal Music are so excited by the impending release of the singer's debut album 'Love And War' that they've decided to give you a remix of the album track 'Chainsaw'. The True Menace Mix is available to download from Daniel's Aussie website by joining up to the 'GetMusic' mailing list! You get a free track and with it, information sent straight to your inbox with regards upcoming releases. Simply click on either one of the links to take straight to where you need to go.\

YEAH YEAH YEAHS : Heads Will Roll
Our heads have only JUST stopped spinning around from the brilliance of the last Yeah Yeah Yeahs single 'Zero', but then the New York based outfit come along and shock our pants off with their brand new single and an equally brand new video. And it's a little bit festive, we have to say - there are plenty of twinkling fairy lights in the trees and Karen O's dressed like a cross between Wonder Woman and a Christmas cracker. Meanwhile, a Michael Jackson impersonator walks casually towards the venue through a dimly lit tunnel, performing some signature MJ moves as he does. He arrives at the venue and takes up position atop the illuminated dancefloor, dancing for the appreciative (but slightly zombie-esque) club crowd. It turns out, however, that he's indeed some kind of werewolf character and heads do indeed roll. So what have we learnt from the clip? Santa's on notice... we want a tiny keyboard with illuminating keys for Christmas.NIKKI WEBSTER : Devilicious
There are some in the media and the music industry who would seek to tear Nikki Webster down purely based on her past image and career decisions, but we say give the girl a break - she was a kid then (being a kid then) and given that music's obviously in her bones and she has indeed grown up, we think it's only fair to give her the opportunity to develop as a now 22 year old performer. We afforded the same luxury to one Kylie Ann Minogue over 20 years ago and look how her career's blossomed. And beyond that, shouldn't we be supporting and nurturing local talent? Anyway, off the soap box.We know we wrote about this a little while ago (and were among the first to bring you news about the singer's return), but now the video is officially up online, we thought we'd show you the final product if you didn't click through to see it last time. As you can see from the new-look Nikki Webster, gone are the trademark blonde curls, gone is that little pink summer dress - images that so etched themselves into our minds almost nine years ago. In their place are images of a young woman clearly comfortable in her own skin, who's vamped up her image, surrounded herself with a selection of hot dancers and who's set her sights firmly on the dancefloor. It's pOp, it's bright and it's fun and while the song itself might not win any awards, we dare say that as with all pOp, it's not meant to be taken too seriously.
ROYKSOPP FTG. ROBYN : The Girl And The Robot
Given her last album is now four years old in some parts of the world, it's wonderfully refreshing to hear Robyn's voice on something new. And it comes courtesy of her collaboration with fellow Scandi-band Röyksopp. 'The Girl And The Robot' is the second single to be lifted from Röyskopp's brand new album 'Junior' and in the clip, Robyn is sporting a slightly shorter new do, pining for her other half, a robot (Artemis.82) who appears to enjoy pruning bushes. We see Robyn going shopping for her new cyborg friend, scooching upto him on a park bench and pining pitifully him while he's out all night earning his keep. Alas, it would appear that Artemis can't provide the sexy singer with everything she needs. A triumph of electro-pOp that deserves some airing in Australia. Nova... can you hear our call!?Monday, May 25, 2009
WES'S SNEAK PEEK
More details (and a sneak peek at the clip) have emerged about the forthcoming Wes Carr release 'Fearless' - and it appears the rumours were true - two of Underbelly's brightest stars are set to appear in his brand new video. The singer posted a 30 second snippet of the new clip online overnight and it features the former Idol mixing with some unsavoury types including Matt Newton as the 'Jack Of Hearts' and Vince Colosimo as 'The Don'. It does it's job of leaving you hungry for more.BLACK ICE MELTS RECORD BOOKS
While we all anticipated that tickets for AC/DC's forthcoming Aussie leg of their 'Black Ice' tour would sell quickly, the sheer magnitude of ticket sales has stunned many within the industry - and all of this amidst a global financial crisis. Tickets for the band's concert tour went on sale a smidge over six hours ago and in that time, what started out as a five concert-tour at major venues has quickly grown to an eleven date tour, with new concerts on sale in Sydney and Brisbane, while Perth now has two sell-out shows. Only Adelaide's first concert is yet to sell out. The concerts have now become the fastest selling in Australian history.February 10 : Melbourne (Etihad Stadium) SOLD OUT

TOURING : Short Stack
The boys from Aussie outfit Short Stack will be shimmying their go-go with news that their new single 'Sway Sway Baby' was the fourth most added track at radio last week. But they'll also be thrilled with ticket sales for their upcoming tour. The band has already sold out shows in both Sydney and Melbourne, with further dates in both cities now added. The tour kicks off in Melbourne on July 05. The band's new album 'Stack Is The New Black' is due on August 14.July 05 : Melbourne (Hifi Bar) SOLD OUT

AC/DC SELLOUT
We know it's not the kind of music we'd ordinarily write about here on auspOp, but you've got to hand it to iconic Aussie rockers AC/DC. Tickets for their forthcoming 'Black Ice' tour went on sale at 9am this morning, and within 15 minutes, the band's concerts in both Melbourne and Sydney had sold out. Second shows for both cities went on sale shortly thereafter. And after just 45 minutes, an incredible 110,000 tickets had been sold in Melbourne - so a third date was added.February 10 : Melbourne (Etihad Stadium) SOLD OUT

CHART WATCH
Now with Mother's Day over and done with for another year, there are some big movers over on the albums chart this week, with some albums almost dropping out of the top 50 after last week being in the top ten! SINGLES : Singles-wise, it's another week on top for the Black Eyed Peas, with their new single 'Boom Boom Pow' selling a further 13,663 copies to stay in place. Almost 4000 copies behind in second place is Eminem's 'We Made You' (9807 copies), with the number three place getter, The Script, almost 2000 copies behind him (7526 copies). Tween starlet Miley Cyrus continues to make inroads on the Aussie charts - her single 'The Climb' continues to do as it's name suggests, rising a further three places this week to move to No.7, while with her Aussie tour now underway, US superstar Pink scores another top ten his with her Aussie single 'Bad Influence' rising to No.9 (5271 copies). New into the chart at No.30 this week is the latest from Flo Rida. 'Sugar' debuts there with a sweet 2179 sales under it's belt first week in. Melbourne boy Daniel Merriweather also pOps into the charts at No.48 with his single 'Change'. It sold 1329 copies for it's first week in. Just outside the top 50, the winner of Eurovision, Alexander Rybak, sees his single 'Fairytale' enter the Aussie top 100 - at No.68 to be precise - with 960 copies sold locally on the back of his Eurovision triumph.
PHYSICAL SINGLES : On the physical side of things, it's still Eminem holding all the cards in the No.1 position with 1229 physical copies of the single 'We Made You' sailing out of stores in the past week. Rocketing into the No.2 position here, however, is the Black Eyed Peas, with 'Boom Boom Pow' finally getting it's physical release. Metallica is in at No.5 here with new single 'Broken, Beat & Scarred', while it's a 'Sugar' rush into the No.18 position for Flo Rida's new single. Further down, there are debuts for Daniel Merriweather and for the Hilltop Hoods (Nos.36 & 47 respectively).
DIGITAL TRACKS : Digitally there's not much change at the pointy end of the charts this week, with the Black Eyed Peas holding onto the top spot. Pink leapfrogs Miley Cyrus to hit the No.7 position, while Miley has to settle for No.8. Look a little lower down and it's clear the David Guetta/Kelly Rowland juggernaut is about to hit, the single 'When Love Takes Over' splashing into the No.26 position on downloads, while Linkin Park debuts at No.37.
ALBUMS : Last week's No.1, Ronan Keating, has suffered a post-Mother's Day plunge down the charts. It's not often an artist drops from No.1 to No.11, but that's precisely what's happened. Last week, Ronan sold 19,110 copies of his 'Songs For My Mother' set. This week, that number's down to just 3496, though the album has now been certified platinum (for sales of 70,000 copies of more). The top spot now belongs to Eminem, whose new album 'Relapse' sold an impressive 27,971 copies in it's first few days on sale to reach the position. Incredibly, not far behind was Green Day. Their new album '21st Century Breakdown' bagged an equally impressive 23,892 sales to make it into the No.2 slot. And it was a long way back to No.3 in sales figures, with Lily Allen's 'It's Not Me, It's You' selling just 6722 in comparison. New for Passion Pit at No.19 was their new album 'Manners', selling 2150 copies in it's first week, while Tori Amos sold 1450 copies of her newie 'Abnormally Attracted To Sin' to debut in the No.28 position. But back to those massive post-Mother's Day sales drops. Ronan Keating drops from No.1 to No.11, Andre Rieu drops from No.2 to No.8, Duffy drops from No.8 to No.18, Annie Lennox drops from No.10 to No.23. Sony labelmates The Priests plummet 18 places to No.32, Andre Rieu 'Masterpieces' package drops 26 places to No.35, Natalie Bassingthwaighte drops 20 places to No.45 and Paul Potts drops from No.7 last week to No.47 this week. Spare a thought too for Carl Riseley - his classy new album 'The Stillest Hour' which was at No.29 last week has sunk like a stone to No.94 this week on the back of just 444 sales. Youch.
OFFICIAL ARIA CHARTS
NEWS WRAP
* EMI has announced a brand new compilation of Blur classics. Entitled 'Midlife: A Beginner's Guide To Blur', the new double disc release is due to hit the stores in Australia on June 26 and will feature 25 of the band's biggest hits, fan favourites and rarities. * Britney Spears has announced that the next single to be lifted from her album 'Circus' will be the previously-released-in-Australia 'Radar'. Whether Sony Australia will follow suit or not, given it's previous release here, remains to be seen.
* Both versions of the American Idol winners single 'No Boundaries' have made their way into the Australian iTunes Top 100. Winner Kris Allen's version has been into the top 40 in the past couple of days, while runner-up Adam Lambert's version is also floating around the top 100.
* And former Bachelor Girl songstress Tania Doko has gone dance on a new collaboration with Melbourne DJ Darren Glen. The two have teamed up on the new club track 'Curious'.
JONAS BROTHERS : Paranoid
The brothers Jonas have some of the most passionate and loyal fans on the planet, so we know that each and every video they release is accom-panied with much anticipation and excitement. So now the video for new single 'Paranoid' is out there, we thought it time to give y'all a gander. The clip opens with the boys alone in a massive warehouse, before it moves to corridors with some of the loudest wallpaper we've seen in an age. But Joe Jonas gets a little adventurous and decides to climb into the attic, which we discover isn't an attic at all, but a wrestling ring. He's bound never to make that mistake again. Nick opens a door and finds himself in the middle of a desert. It must be something to do with the outdated wallpaper. It sure has US paranoid!Sunday, May 24, 2009
PAUL DEMPSEY : Out The Airlock
Things have certainly gotten a little smaller for Something For Kate lead singer Paul Dempsey in the clip to his brand new single 'Out The Airlock'. And it's the kind of video that train enthusiasts are really going to get their teeth into 'cause it features plenty of tiny little model trains. Appearing like Buddha in the Monkey TV series, Paul towers above the landscape, strumming his guitar, while just centimetres below, life goes quietly on in the fictitious little hamlet of Lloydhurst. Sweet and effective.
NATALIE IMBRUGLIA : Shiver
After a number of delays, Natalie looks set to release her brand new album later in the year. But we look back this week at the very amazing clip to her single 'Shiver' in which Natalie plays some kind of undercover espionagey spy! The clip begins with the singer burning her passports in a fire in the middle of an empty field. From there, she steals a car, gets involved in a car chase, drives the car down a flight of stairs, changes into another outfit, takes a train, gives a woman on the street a mini-disc (remember those!?), and ignores a phone call. All that in less than four minutes of video. We're pOOped!

INTERVIEW : Rozalla
It had been a desperately long time since Zimbabwean singer Rozalla last occupied the Australian charts with her single 'Everybody's Free'. But after countless remixes throughout the past 18 years, the song re-entered the Australian charts earlier this year thanks to a remix by the Global Deejays and it's use in the promos for Channel 10's hit reality show 'So You Think You Can Dance'. We caught up with the songstress for a quick natter and asked her how in the world so many remixes of the one song can be commissioned.
"Unfortunately, the record company I was signed to at the time still hold some of the rights to it (the song) and they give permission for the remixes to be done. I also think others have done their own remixes of their track, which I find flattering".
With renewed interest in Rozalla thanks to the (sanctioned) Global Deejays remix of the single, the time is most definitely right for the singer to return to our shores for a series of club appearances - something she says she's very much looking forward to.
"I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it ('Everybody's Free') was a hit in Australia again. I had been to Australia once before in the early 1990s, but I look forward to seeing it again. I'm sure I won't remember much from my last visit, so I'll be taking lots of pictures", she says.
Rozalla first came to global attention when her single 'Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)' became a worldwide hit, even making it's way into the US top 40. From there, she contributed the single 'I Love Music' to the soundtrack to the 1994 film 'Carlito's Way' and released the club hit 'Don't Go Lose It Baby' in 1998. But 'Don't Go Lose It Baby' was the last time we'd heard from Rozalla in Australia. We asked her why it had been so long since we'd seen her release material down under.
"If I had my way, I'd always release my material in Australia, but it comes down to getting licensing deals with record companies for that to happen, so hopefully we'll get that right for new releases in the future", she says, adding that it might not be the last we'll be hearing from her in 2009. She hints that her latest album, the jazz-inspired 'Brand New Version', may also get an Aussie release.
"My manager is working on it at the moment and hopefully we'll get a licensing deal", she says.
For the moment though, fans of the singer can get a little more up close and personal with Rozalla when her 2009 Australian club tour kicks off in Mooloolaba on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast on Thursday May 28. From there, the tour visits Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney, Darwin, Newcastle and Melbourne. Dates below.

WES CARR'S FEARLESS
We have no idea what it's all about, but if it includes some of Underbelly's most fearless characters (Matthew Newton and Vince Colosimo are pictured here), then we kinda guess that Wes too must be three kinds of fearless. It's the title of his new single, due for release into stores in the coming weeks. Now we're intrigued, but could it have something to do with the clip? Who knows...
