From the depths of country Victoria, Ryan Meeking (along with 'The Few' - his bandmates) emerged as an exciting new talent on the Australian music landscape with the release of his debut EP 'Broken Cars And Empty Pockets' last year. With plenty of support from independent radio and Triple J, the band garnered themselves a big new following and with their brand new EP 'Night Owls', released over the weekend, that following is once again satiated with new material. 'Morning Bird' (a song written about an owl) is the first highlight track taken from the EP and is already at local radio - and once again, it's the independents leading the way.
To co-incide with the release of the EP, the band's also hitting the road for a series of intimate shows, playing at Brisbane's Troubadour this Thursday night and providing support for Chris Isaak for his forthcoming shows in Melbourne and Sydney. For all the dates, to listen to snippets of the tracks and for more guff, head to their OFFICIAL MYSPACE.
