After seven weeks lodged at the top of the official ARIA singles charts, the reign of the Black Eyed Peas is finally over. However, for Michael Jackson, the run at the top continues as he notches up a seventh posthumous week on top with 'The Essential' collection.SINGLES : It's taken seven weeks for someone to knock them off their No.1 perch and though Lady Gaga gave it a red hot crack with her single 'Paparazzi', it just wasn't enough to bump the Black Eyed Peas' track 'I Gotta Feeling' from the No.1 mantle. But now French superstar DJ David Guetta has managed to do it, his single 'Sexy Bitch' (featuring the vocals of Akon) knocking them off the top spot this week (14,311 sales).
Kate Miller-Heidke's run of good luck with the single 'The Last Day On Earth' continues too - moving up a further six places this week to No.3 (8374), while her Aussie labelmate Guy Sebastian debuts solidly in the No.6 spot with 'Like It Like That' (6145 sales).
On the back of the No.1 success with 'Sexy Bitch', Mister Guetta's previous hit (with Kelly Rowland) 'When Love Takes Over' moves back into the top ten this week - up four spots to No.7.
Pitbull's 'I Know You Want Me' hussles it way in the right direction - up to No.13 this week (4373 sales), while Cascada moves up to No.15 with 'Evacuate The Dancefloor' doing anything but with 4108 sales.
Cobra Starship leaps 13 places to No.16 and Alesha Dixon scores her first ever solo Aussie top 20 hit with 'The Boy Does Nothing'. It's now at No.19 (3329 sales).
With 2763 sales this week, Cassie Davis debuts in the No.27 position with 'Do It Again' - single No.3 from her just-released debut album and Ricki-Lee moves up eight places to No.28 with new single 'Don't Miss You' (2682 sales).
Two more debuts further down the top 50 come from Muse ('Uprising' at No.40 with 1929 sales) and Shakira ('She Wolf' at No.50 with 1508 sales).
Looks like the promo tour paid off for Pixie Lott. Her single 'Mama Do' enters the top 100 this week at No.57 with 1256 sales, Lisa Mitchell is in at No.70 with 'Neopolitan Dreams' (1008 sales) and Bag Raiders are in at No.75 with 'Shooting Stars' (955 sales).
Freemasons ftg. Sophie Ellis Bextor moves up to a new peak of No.80 this week with 'Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)'. And strangely there's no chart placing for Madonna's new single 'Celebration'.
ALBUMS : Albums-wise, it's Michael Jackson again this week with 'The Essential' collection maintaining it's stranglehold on the top spot. Seven weeks and counting, notching up a further 9621 sales in a slower week at retail.
Taylor Swift's album 'Fearless' makes an unexpected move back into the top ten to No.8 (4097 sales) and Kate Miller-Heidke's album 'Curiouser' is making a run up the chart - this week rising 18 places to sit at No.15 (2859).
With another hit from The Script's self-titled album now waiting in the wings, the album moves up 12 places to No.25 this week (1644), while Katy Perry's album benefits from both a tour and a repackage, moving north by 14 places on the back of 1228 sales. No debuts between 50 and 100!

Just wondering, how did Mariah Carey go this week?
Thanks!
thanks for the update!
can i please have the sales for jessica mauboy's single/s and album for this week and lisa mitchelles album. thanks.
last week i asked why lisa mitchelle was not at #1 on the australian aria charts when she was highers than another artist in the aria charts (i think the guys name was vincent?)... and the only possible reason i can find is that the australian chart is decided based on physical sales only.. not sure though! i'm trying to work it out.

There's a very simple reason why Madonna's new single has yet to appear on the official singles chart - Warner has not requested that she be included in the survey. As explained in the lengthy chart rules available from ARIA, a track that does not have a physical version available only becomes eligible for the official singles chart if the record company asks ARIA to include it. If the record company does not do this, then the single can only chart on the Digital chart until a physical single is made available (all singles with a physical release are eligible for the official singles chart and ARIA automatically combines digital sales with physical sales). So, in a nutshell, "Celebration" won't chart on the main chart until a) Warners officially asks ARIA to chart the single or b) a CD single is released. Long term chart watchers will remember that 4 Minutes charted for a couple of weeks on the Digital chart before Warners requested that it appear on the main chart, where it debuted at #3 before moving to #1 when the physical single was released the following week. There is chart love out there for Madonna, don't you worry! :-)
Warners are a strange bunch indeed. They did the same thing with Kylie's 2 Hearts in 2007. I'm guessing that a physical single for 'Celebration' is in the pipelines and that they're hoping for a No. 1 entry.
Bundle that with their apparent refusal to release the very extensive Mushroom/PWL back-catalogue on iTunes (ie. Kylie & Jason plus a bunch of others) and you have to wonder what the hell is going on. Do they even CARE about music fans anymore??? I miss Michael Gudinski...
Hi there was just wondering if you could please tell me P!nk's Funhouse total sales and Jessica Mauboy's- Been Waiting albm total sales?
