We would never have dreamt that Aussie songstress Clare Bowditch was much of the war startin' type - we couldn't even fathom the singer ever raising her voice in an argument, such is her quiet, gentle and softly spoken demeanour. BUT, starting a war is exactly what the singer's set to do with the impending release of her long-awaited new single 'The Start Of War'.
It's the singer's first single for her new label Island Records and precedes the release of her (as yet untitled) new album, due later in the year. But Clare has also announced that she'll give audiences a taste of what to expect from her new long player when she hits the road throughout September, October and November to play a series of intimate shows in a range of slightly less mainstream venues. The live shows will follow Clare's appearance at three festivals in late September in Albury, Ararat and Brisbane respectively. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
