The Australian music industry’s night of nights, the annual ARIA Awards are on the move. This year’s ceremony, set down at Sydney’s Acer Arena on November 26, will move from former broadcast partner Network Ten to Channel 9 in 2009. The second move is the night of the ceremony – usually held on a Sunday night, the awards this year will take place on a Thursday evening, with Channel 9 set to telecast the show nationally from 8:30pm. The Nine Network will screen a series of chart countdown shows in the lead up to the ceremony and for the first time will also screen the ARIA Hall Of Fame ceremony from Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on August 27.
