SINGLES : There's no shifting The Fray from the top spot on the ARIA singles chart this week, the band retaining the No.1 position despite a decent challenge from country superstar Taylor Swift, whose single 'Love Story' moves up from No.8 to No.2. The All American Rejects too have experienced a fantastic jump, rising from No.12 to No.5 and the Empire Of The Sun team will be celebrating, with their single 'Walking On A Dream' finally cracking the top ten (at No.10) after almost six months in the chart. Sony Music's Cassie Davis just misses out on the top ten with her single 'Like It Loud' having to settle for No.11, while Lily Allen too creeps ever higher with her new single 'The Fear' - it moves up five places to the No.13 position and looks set to crack the top ten next week. The Global Deejays cover of the Rozalla classic 'Everybody's Free' leaps nicely from No.34 to No.18, while there are jumps for Lady Gaga (No.25 to No.19), Eric Hutchinson (No.33 to No.23), and Fall Out Boy (No.36 to No.26). Empire Of The Sun has another hit waiting in the wings with their second single 'We Are The People' moving up an extraordinary 16 places to No.24 this week, and Beyonce debuts at No.29 with new single 'Halo'. Sam Sparro also scores a belated top 50 hit with '21st Century Life' at No.42.PHYSICAL SINGLES : Physically, The Fray makes it three out of three this week - No.1 on this, the digital and combined singles charts. Jessica Mauboy makes a leap for the top again with her single 'Burn' - up five places to No.2 and Lady Gaga moves up to No.11 with her new single 'Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say). There are debuts for Saving Abel (No.22), Fall Out Boy (No.23), Kelly Clarkson (No.28), Temper Trap (No.32), Pink (No.38) and Global Deejays (No.43).
DIGITAL TRACKS : Country singer Taylor makes a 'Swift' move up the digital charts this week, making it all the way up to the No.2 position, the All American Rejects move up seven places to No.5 and Sony's Cassie Davis moves up from No.21 to No.10. Empire Of The Sun celebrates a move into the top ten with 'Walking On A Dream' and a move into the top 30 with second single 'We Are The People'. Further down the list, there are debuts from Beyonce ('Halo' at No.27), TI With Justin Timberlake ('Dead And Gone' at No.28), Sam Sparro ('21st Century Life' at No.38) and Kings Of Leon ('Revelry' at No.39).
ALBUMS : The top five remains exactly the same this week, but incredible Aussie outfit Empire Of The Sun FINALLY starts gelling with the Australian record buying public - their album landing in the No.6 position, while the soundtrack to Channel 7's 'Packed To The Rafters' re-enters the top ten at No.8. Duffy's impending visit to Australia's shores sparks a rush into the stores , 'Rockferry' re-emerging on the ARIA albums chart in the No.33 position, Seal's 'Soul' also re-emerges - this week at No.40, and Roberta Flack's tour of the country seems to have sparked interest in her best of, which JUST scrapes into the top 50 at No.50.
