CHART WATCH

SINGLES : The top three are unchanged this week, with The Fray retaining the top spot with their latest single 'You Found Me'. There are, however, a few big movers in this singles charts this week with former American Idol Kelly Clarkson racing into the top ten (No.6) with her new single 'My Life Would Suck Without You'. Joining her in the top ten is US country star Taylor Swift - her single 'Love Story' making it's entrance in the ten at No.8. After almost six months in the chart, Empire Of The Sun finally gets into the top 15 with their single 'Walking On A Dream' (it's at No.14) while their second single 'We Are The People' makes a splash further down the list at No.40. Lily Allen's getting 'The Fear' into people's heads, with the single moving up ten places this week to No.18, while there's a respectable debut for Australia's newest rock goddess Cassie Davis and her single 'Like It Loud' at No.19. Outside the top 20, Lady Gaga moves up nine places, U2 debuts with their new single 'Get On Your Boots' one spot below at No.26 and Ladyhawke's touring around the country sees her track 'My Delirium' move up from No.49 to No.37
PHYSICAL SINGLES : Idol winner Wes Carr ain't looking like moving from the No.1 spot on the physical singles chart - he's been there for a while now, but there may be a challenge next week as the Ian Carey Project's 'Get Shaky' moves up from No.8 to No.3. The Fray to makes a spectacular move, bulleting up 37 places to No.5 with the single 'You Found Me'. There are debuts at Nos.12, 13 and 15 from Bon Iver, Cassie Davis and The All American Rejects, while Franz Ferdinand's new track 'Ulysees' debuts here at No.28. There are also debuts from Lady Gaga ('Eh Eh Nothing Else I Can Say' at No.34) and Kaz James with Macy Gray ('Can't Hold Back' at No.36).
DIGITAL TRACKS : Digitally, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift have moved into the top ten in style, entering at the Nos.5 and 6 places respectively. Empire Of The Sun's 'Walking On A Dream' makes a five place move towards the top, occupying the No.13 spot, while newcomer Cassie Davis debuts just outside the top 20 (No.21) with debut single 'Like It Loud'. Irish supergroup U2 is gettin' on their boots with a No.23 debut, while at the bottom end of the chart, there are more debuts from Ladyhawke ('My Delirium' at No.35), Empire Of The Sun ('We Are The People' at No.37) and Kanye West ('Heartless' at No.39).
ALBUMS : And finally over to the albums chart, where Kings Of Leon sold just 9149 copies of their album 'Only By The Night' to retain the No.1 position, while Bruce Springsteen debuts at No.3 with his new album 'Working On A Dream', just 259 copies off being this week's No.2. Franz Ferdinand debuts at No.5 with their new album 'Tonight : Franz Ferdinand', Taylor Swift gets a break into the top ten on the eve of her Australian tour and Empire Of The Sun are within a bee's dick of bettering their previous chart best (they move up to No.9). Wordsmith Leonard Cohen's Aussie tour sees a best of debut at No.21, while Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson's big win at the Tamworth Country Music Festival last week sees their album 'Rattlin Bones' rocket back up from No.49 to No.22. There are also debuts for Bon Iver (No.32) and the soundtrack to hit movie Slumdog Millionaire (No.49).
