LIBERTY X : Just A Little
The debut single from the band known as Liberty X. The fivesome, borne from the Popstars television series, originally named themselves 'Liberty', but after a high court challenge from an identically-named r&b outfit, they changed it to Liberty X. And with their name change came their first (and only) number UK one hit and their only Aussie top 30 hit, 'Just A Little'. The song was right, the clip was right and the time was most certainly right for this pOp fivesome to take over the charts. Dressed solely in black, the girls all look so exquisitely sexy in this clip as they, along with Tony and Kevin seek to break into a high security safe. They do so, making off with one of the largest gemstones we ever did see, only to lose it down the drain moments later - ah well, you win some, you lose some. But the sassiness, the confidence and the sexiness the band exuded in this clip is what made it work so damned well. Four years later after the band's lowest-charting single 'X', however, it was all over. But it's good to look back on a band that looked the part, acted the part and sounded the part. And their most successful single 'Just A Little' remains to this day one of the finest pOp songs of the 21st century.
