Kate Miller-Heidke's new single has been doing the rounds exclusively on the Nova radio network throughout Australia for the best part of three weeks as the stations seek to position themselves as Australia's 'new music' radio network. The physical single was supposedly released to retail over the weekend (though we've yet to catch sight of it), the track is available digitally and the video has now made it's debut online. So it's 10:17 in the evening judging by the stars and poor Kate's got three problems; Problem 1 - she's got a clock stuck in her hair. Problem 2 - she's wearing some kind of zany hypercolour zinc cream and she's nowhere near the beach. Problem 3 - she's wearing cherry chapstick and if she's not careful, Katy Perry's gonna come a'knockin on her door in a feeble attempt to snog it off her face (something to do with the taste, apparently). Anyways, what strikes us about this clip is just how much colour and movement the directors have been able to squeeze into three minutes and 14 seconds of video. Not only have they created one of the most colourful pOp clips of the year, but any clip that features the singer doing 'the sprinkler' (a purely Australian dance that went out with the extreme water restrictions) gets a big tick of approval in our pOp books.Tuesday, October 7, 2008
