24 year old Welsh singer Duffy has taken out the "Song Of The Year" gong at the Mojo Magazine Awards in London overnight.The 'Duffster' (let's face it, there are only so many ways we can say "Duffy") won for her massive worldwide hit "Mercy".
The former UK number one single has sold more than 500,000 copies since it was released and has resulted in huge sales for Duffy's album "Rockferry", which in itself is closing in on sales of two million worldwide.
The success of both "Mercy" and "Rockferry" has also resulted in the brilliant chart performance of Duffy's third single "Warwick Avenue", which hit the number three spot in the UK and went on to sell more than 70,000 copies.
Still no word on a follow-up single for "Mercy" in Australia, but the fourth single "Serious" is to be released in the UK in late August.
